about being late and more expensive in Qatar. But it's all about accountability, It's got nothing to do with the work timing. Can anybody explain why the airport project took 3 times the time frame and cost. Even the renewal of a private garden here gets overdue.
Good information Hislam. I agree every 15 longitudes make one hour (180*/12 hrs). My only question is if we are following Saudi time being closer to UAE we have to use a time atleast between the two. This will add to an additional 1/2 or atleast 1 hour additional productive time in qatar. GMT is taken as reference for 1/2 hr difference and not 1 hour.
This is my personal observation because all of the projects in doha take 2 - 3 times to complete a project when compared to UAE and Oman.
Eg : I worked in 2 flyover projects in oman and strictly it is framed for 100 days, where as they take minimum 300 - 400 days (even more) in qatar incurring twice or more money required other then time.
But to your knowledge there is what so called time zones where every 15 longitudes are in one zone and the next 15 are an hour earlier / later. It happens that Qatar is almost at the end of GMT+3 and UAE is at the begining of GMT+4
I was wondering why Qatar is using a Meantime of Saudi Arabia. I found its mean time location as 51* 15' E
while UAE is 54* E
and Saudi Arabia is 45* E
with a time difference of 1hrs with UAE while it is just 3* away and following Saudi at above 6*
I used to be surprised when people used/are suspending works in the morning session when it is actually at peak for Duhor prayers that falls at 11.30am local, while around the world the peak output time is between 8.30am and 1.00pm.
First a late start due to a time gap of its longitudinal location 3* east and secondly the Duhor prayer timing that falls around 11.30am
Thus understood an average work loss of 1.5hrs daily at peak took its cause.
