In a strange incident, a teacher who was giving Muslim students private tuition in Islamic studies turned to be a Christian.

The news went viral on social media, drawing many mixed reactions.

Amal, a Kuwaiti woman said that the teacher must be punished.

“It is not acceptable to cheat in religion. How can someone who is from a different religion teach these kids about Islam and Sharia?” she questioned.

Sharing similar views, Seham, another Kuwaiti woman said that the religion of the private tuition teacher does not make a huge difference if he is teaching them Science, Mathematics and English.

“It makes a huge difference teaching the student about Islam. This is so because in this subject, in particular, it depends on the faith and beliefs of the teacher which will be reflected on the students. Thus, this is wrong and the teacher should be punished if he cheated the family and did not tell them about his religion.”

This is an interesting one ... I know that there are many professors of Islamic studies in the West who are not Muslim.. Does this make them less able to impart the knowledge ?

What say you ?

“The world will go wrong if the parents go wrong”

This was said by one of the speaker last week at the Qatar university during a private prize giving ceremony.

Spiritual values to a child usually comes through the parents, family along with the environment. This cannot be taught unless practiced.

If I need to hire a teacher to teach English to my kid, all I do is to check whether the teacher is certified to teach English particularly through British council or he has any qualification related to BC.

I suppose any subject for that respect the teacher should be qualified and certified through an applicable source.

However an education or a lifestyle for a child should be proactive rather reactive.

Example : Child should be taught in advance not to steal, not after stealing. It apply for all related activities.

If one faith say’s the child should attend prayers five times a day at the age of 10, if not beat the child and take it to pray. What is the meaning of this, The same faith say’s teach the child to pray from 7 years up to 10 years.

Now make your counting, how many time a mother and a father need to teach a child before beating at the age of 10 years. It’ll be almost after saying 5,400 times, you will start to beat your child. (5 x30 =150 ) (150 x 12 = 1,800) (1800 x 3 = 5400). I don’t think a beating or a spiritual teaching out of the compound required if the spiritual’s followed as per the spirit by the parents.

Keeping religion out of it...

If a person is qualified, then does his religion matter ?

For eample, Professor Netton has a PhD in Arabic and Islamic Studies Professor of Islamic Studies at Exeter University. He has also written over twenty books on the subject..

It's the same when it comes to the so-called "native speakers." Just think a minute. Joseph Conrad, a Hungarian, who came to England at the age of 20 became one of the best writers in English literature. (Lord Jim is one of his famous books).
