PATIENCE is a VIRTUE

This is a true story which happened in the States.

A man came out of his home to admire his new truck. To his puzzlement, his three-year-old son was happily hammering dents into the shiny paint of the truck. The man ran to his son, knocked him away, hammered the little boy's hands into pulp as punishment. When the father calmed down, he rushed his son to the hospital.

Although the doctor tried desperately to save the crushed bones, he finally had to amputate the fingers from both the boy's hands.

When the boy woke up from the surgery & saw his bandaged stubs, he innocently said, " Daddy,I'm sorry about your truck." Then he asked, "but when are my fingers going to grow back?"

The father went home & committed suicide.

Think about this story the next time someone steps on your feet or u wish to take revenge. Think first before u lose your patience with someone u love. Trucks can be repaired.. Broken bones & hurt feelings often can't. Too often we fail to recognize the difference between the person and the performance. We forget that forgiveness is greater than revenge.

People make mistakes. We are allowed to make mistakes. But the actions we take while in a rage will haunt us forever.

What you are is what you have been, and what you will be is what you do now. - Buddha

patience is a virtue that unfortunately only few of us have...sometimes when we are provoked its too much for our minds to handle expecially when emotions such as love is involved, we go into a blind rage...lucky for those people who can hold themselves in check 24/7 or those people who could be calm and pretend that nothing happened...yes forgiveness is indeed greater than revenge...but forgetting it completely is pure stupidity

None but ourselves can free our minds..

Azzi , have to totally agree with you on this one. Angry people cause hurt and get hurt. We are the sum total of our actions and like I say, we ALWAYS have a choice, we are the ones who choose to be angry or forgiving, happy or sad, bitter or content.

And as I lay me down to sleep......

Goodnight all..

This rarely happens in reality... Thats why people have to learn certain spiritual values...

This was indeed a very nice story, To think of it..

I hope we all consider this point so that we dont make mistakes and regret for the rest of our lives...
