Parking at Souq Waqif

No doubt, the parking facility & availability in SOUQ WAQIF is very poor but I normally park in SOUQ NAJADA pay per hour parking if i have an emergency or for a short time visit to SOUQ WAQIF.

ilovelife21.. solution to your problem..simple..dont park in reverse it is not worth the time as someone will nick your parking place..:)

Like Rizk and Baldrick Park on the Corniche and walk.. Most of the problem of the parking is at night so no problem having a little stroll at night..

The changes they're making to the main car park have completely screwed it up. There's no longer enough room between the rows of parked cars. The (lack of) planning in this city never ceases to amaze me.

i don't go there anymore coz parking is really horrible, anyway anywhere you go here in doha parking is torture, everywhere there is double parking and most of the time you go home with a lot of scratches on your car.

to tell u the truth ... Ashghal & whomever is responsible of designin roads and parkings have very bad knowledge and they dont think for the future! traffic everywhere, small parkings that are not enough for visitors everywhere... what a shame! for such a rich country, the situation must be much much better! souk wakif is nice but u get fed up while searchin for parkin and u leave! like in city center and mnay other places!

Hardly surprising, since most of the people there are bedou.

Painting lines on the ground, adding sensible traffic flows etc will make no difference. Most of the drivers there are morons.

I don't go near the place anymore. The parking is awful, the restaurants are average, and the place is just too hot.

I tend to park in front of the Islamic Cultural Center (the lovely snail looking tower across Souq Waqif).

If you go there and keep looking around for five minutes, you are bound to find a parking lot.

It has always worked with me up till now.

yupp i understand...but nothing really to do about it :) make sure u go a bit early coz eventually u will have to take several rounds to get parking..

Never had a problem. As per Rizks, I often park on the Corniche and walk - very enjoyable :o)

some are making double parking. some parks in the sidewalk. LOL. side walk is for pedestrian people and not for your cars. :D

Souq Waqif...

Well to enter tat placem, i hav to park my car at Corniche and walk all the way to hav my Sheesha and Coffee..:( till the time i reach SW i am half dead...:(

But i gues its not only SW parking, hav u noticed the parkings in the BANK street in the morning HRS... u will get CRAZY !!

it is ok if they park their cars in "proper" way. if it's parallel parking or vertical or horizontal. some park their car to occupy two slots. some park horizontal in a vertical or horizontal slots. some park their cars even if their car doesnt fit that area. and the end of their cars are showing out of the road and might cause accidents. LMAO!

Indeeed pretty bad...but hey cant do much about it...maybe when they knock the other buildings down, maybe then we can hope for a bit more...

Infact parking in most places here is horrible...lets not even get to talking about CITY CENTER!!!
