If you don't seem to be hearing a lot of noises from the Americans on the trouble in Egypt, on the killings in Syria, on North Korea, etc then now you probably know the reason

MM do you know the amount the us gives to Egypt as military aid?

In the meanwhile he seems to be licking his wounds and is afraid to even say a word on Egypt or to say a word on the Syrian war. I suppose this days he is busy harrasing and trying to kidnap the guys who have been exposing uncle Sams misdeeds and double dealings across the world like Bradley manning and Edward Snowden

Brit, I didn't expect this from you. In your previous posts you gave an opinion that you were not in favour of any kind of intervention. However, you say here that you wanted US to take Morsi's side in Egypt. I feel what US has done is correct. If you are abreast of the happenings you will know that White House has sent a delegation to Egypt to break the stalemate. They may take sides eventually but won't make it obvious.

Brit i agree except to its economic status. If only others could stand face to face then it will fall. All whites in west stand very poor in actual, but for the vito and the military presence scare everyone. Falling will happen definitely as the law of universe, but when is unknown.

Time is relative. I am sure that the USA will decline in years to come , but can't se it happening over the next say 100 years.

The USA is a Big Dog with tentacles in everything. It has military and economic might and unlike previous "empires" has ensured that it also has the mechanisms in place to control / influence others.

Weapons dont keep you on power for a long time Brit. If you read the history there were Empires much more powerful than US.

That would a big write up and I wouldn't hurt my fingers that much...:) Suffice to say it wouldn't fall cos of its strenghts in everything that we have.

It MAY fall the day when everyone else would have fallen around it (cannot say with surety though)...:)

I personally cannot see the U.S "falling". It is the most powerful country in the world, both in weaponry and economic clout. It dictates the terms and others follow. The fault lies not with the USA but the others who are not strong enough.

As per the topic. I am disappointed in the stance Obama has taken over Egypt. As per their own policies, the USA should have stopped aid to Egypt and given Sisi a kick up the backside once the coup had taken place.

Being an unbiased person with strong intellectual opinions, can you please mention the justifiable factors or elaborate about "Why do you think US will not fall".

Would appreciate it.

LLR...everyone has its own perceptions or prejudices...be it writing books or be a part of TV debates etc etc. which then is just that individuals POV. I therefore would read and hear everything but tend to make my opinion as I am mostly unbiased. Take Manning's case...some are happy and consider it as a landmark decision while some are not. US may have everything bad but still people want to go there and look upon them to come to their rescue when stuck and that is the bottom line. Rest is all what I said in the beginning.

I urge you to read this book The Fall of the US Empire - And Then What? By Johan Galtung and Watch the documentary or read the Book Dirty Wars: The World Is A Battlefield

The main problem with US is his foreign policy. Bush lied to the whole UN. I dont have full internet access, otherwise I would have share the debate of foreign intervention in Oxford Union.

If it was an oil rich country the US troops would be already on the ground protecting the wells just like they did in Iraq.

And as far as Egypt is concerned, who said the USA isn't involved there? You need to check your fact (:

There are lots of countries with nuclear weapons, what they try and stop is unstable nations from having them, like Iran and North Korea.

And if you hate the US so much, why constantly ask them to interfere in your countries? Why are you so dependent on them?

US and old, weak, tired & close to his expiry date...no way...it is as strong as it was and would only be getting stronger as years pass by. Keeping silent on certain issues doesnt mean that...it just says that it is tired of helping and in return being criticized...may be just leaving diff parts of the world, for sometime, to take care of themselves...:)

MM they already pose it and are threatening everyone with the UNO(Unreliable Nations organization/has become impotent being in US) in their pocket by keeping the military presence in all parts of world, fed freely by the countries near to it.

Further they have the largest of nuclear weapons and disallow all the world to possess them, just because of the vito power they have been allowed 68yrs before and all follow like sheep after nearly 7 decades.

Why in the world should the US involve itself in another foreign conflict that's of no benefit whatsoever to them. The US is a sovereign state with its own internal problems to solve, it's not the worlds savior.

I guess that's probably because The Secretary of State, John Kerry is presently shuttling between Palestine and Israel. He is mediating for a two state solution on behalf of US again. The two parties seem interested to talk to each other this time and we hope something good will come up in the next nine months. As you know all the media attention is focussed on to these fresh round of talks, other areas haven't been covered much last week.
