NOC for getting married???

Why? Well it will be a never-ending question, so just get it. At least the sponsor knows you're getting married and any "problem" or consequence arising out of it, the sponsor knows! They are the "guardian", right?

this NOC will be issued by sponsors/employers of both bride and groom. This is a requirement for those getting married (CIVIL) at our Phil Embassy. Said "civil wedding/s" are/is officiated by the Consul General or the Ambassador.

I know this is true coz I was given this list of documents I need to produce WHEN I INQUIRED about civil weddings.

I am not sure why this is required, I find it weird but who am I to question what is required. Even if I ask those embassy staff/employees, all answer they could give were either stupid retorts or complete BS.

It depends on the Company, & like stealth said depends on the Embassy as well....

yeah, and the company policy is NOC given to locally hired but not to foreign hires :)

no need for marriage after marriage if u want to take your wife`s sponsorship that time need NOC. else just prepare the papers go to court and be happy :)

Perhaps the purpose of getting an NOC in certain situations is for the purpose of changing sponsorship to husbands name after marriage. Else I dont see any other reason for anyone needing an NOC to get married.

My question is:WHOM this NOC is addressed to and TO WHOM this NOC should be submitted?

Generally they can invoke the termination clause and put you on notice for any reason if they feel so..:(

It depends on the company- certain companies have strict rules regards marital status , children etc.- and they insist to be informed before you take any decision.

Ok, MC, this can be solved in a routine conversation with the management of the company.. but they are talking about NOC. NOC - to whom? NOC is given for submission to some organization/office/institution, etc, right? NOC is stating to this organization/office/institution, etc., that the Company doesn't mind this and that..

WHY the Company has to give a NOC to the employee confirming that the company doesn't mind him/her to marry? Ok i agree, one can inform the company, or discuss it with the company.. but NOC? To submit to whom?

Does seem bizarre to get permission but as marycatherine has already said, it will have a financial impact on the company and we all know how companies in Qatar will do anything to cover their backsides in every aspect...unfortunately, marriage included.

Oh and as for the NOC - it might be purely financial. Many companies offer increased benefits to married people - health, tickets, bigger housing allowances or larger accomodation. That's a cost to the company. You were recruited as a single (and you're cheaper because of that) and that's the contract you were offered. By getting married, the contract is now in question morally if not legally.

If you are the lady involved, you will need permission from your father or recognized legal guardian (if you wish to marry inside Qatar) - no matter your age.

I got married here without any NOC.. how is it their business??? What it has to do with?

Court doesn't ask for any NOC, meaning that no any papers like that are required...

I have personally undergone this situation here in Doha, where i was asked to select between my marriage & my job. companies fool employees, create & run their own rules for the benefit of them. this is a very sad situation here

NO IT IS NOT REQUIRED AT ALL ONLY YOU NEED COPY OF YOUR AND HER PERMIT VISA AND OTHER REQUIREMENT BUT NO NOC

yes NOC is required in certain companies to get married. the parties wish to be married are to get permission from their Management + the owner or the CEO of the company.

certain companies even have policies about having kids :(
