A word of advice from someone that has been in Qatar nearly 5years.... break away from the SA cliques.... mingle... meet new people, new nationalities, new cultures - my personal motto is.... if I wanted to mix with South Africans, I would have stayed at home...

I don't know your reasons from moving to Qatar, but mine were to experience a whole different world from what I was used to back home.... I have only been home twice in the time I have been here and on my second visit, I realised how closed minded South Africans are - I see that with many Saffers here too, that stick having only South African friends...

Oh! and travel as much as you can, cause we cannot afford to do if from SA:-(

Go out, meet new people, live the culture, and I promise you will fit in more than you ever thought possible:-)

My two cents worth!
