It's been seven years in the planning and has cost up to £1b, but the Commonwealth Games, due to be held in New Delhi, was plunged into crisis today when a foot over bridge near the main stadium collapsed.
Five labourers who were working on the 100m Jawaharlal Nehru (JLN) Stadium foot bridge are were critically injured in the accident and were taken to the nearby Safdarjung Hospital.
This is the latest in a growing list of problems the beleaguered Games, which begins on October 3, which have been beset by security fears, athlete withdrawals and today stern criticism of the facilities in the athletes' village.

They probably might postpone the event,but the Delhi officials keep insisting that it is going to be the best ever Commonwealth games ever.
