Mosquito Bites and Malaria/Other Diseases

My family and I have been waking up to bug bites the past couple of weeks. I've reacted badly to them, with large welts and redness over a massive area. Do we need to be concerned with Malaria, Yellow Fever, or other diseases? I know it's not bed bugs, and we've been bitten by the ants and know what those are like. Pretty sure these are mosquito bites, since we've seen and killed a few in our time here.

Yeah, I figured it was just a bad reaction to the bites. I don't react that way back home, but my son does. I didn't know you could get yellow fever from mosquito bites until I started looking mosquito bites and middle up on the internet. I know, google is the last place to go for medical advise. LOL

is that possible... Yellow Fever, from Moquitoes?

I doubt you have either of those, but you could be allergic to mosquitoes, like I am... I itch for days afterwards with large welts... they eventually disappear.

No need to panic.

Apply lactocalamine. It is very soothing and remove the rashes from mosquito bites. Consult your doctor for a course of Meflotab. Don't ignore mosquitoe bites you will get frequent fever and cold cough.

I've yet to see mosquitoes here but bed bugs are very common, however, apart from discomfort there is no known disease caused by bed bug bites.

All expats must go through a medical examination. It can only be a local disease!
