Doha traffic getting more and more crowded as before we need 15 to 20 minutes to reach any where in qatar but now for the same destination we need 1 to 1 1\2 hour.

The other more funny situation is when someone try to pass by your car and found a car ahead to my car who is not ready to give him way............LOL

You can see so many people cutting across lanes in the pic blocking other drivers & slowing down everyone.

I don't know how changing school timings will help here, people will stop cutting across lanes?

yes, number of cars will decrease but there are enough people going to office early morning to cause huge traffic jams with driving like this.

And using school buses would be a solution, but after the case of Sara Deen and that kid in Saudi, I pretty much swore never to send my daughter by bus. The risk is just too much even to consider the pros.

The use of school buses is available for almost all schools here (expat schools, don't know about the local schools). But most parents don't want the kids to use them a they do not trust the driving skills of the bus driver. Plus, it takes the kids as long as 1.5 hours for one trip.

I think the best solution is to change the school times.

And for those turtles and swervers...GET OFF THE ROAD!!!

they should bring in a law to make use of the school bus mandatory

Do you know the coast of bus fee which is not suitable for those who have more than three kids in school

Lawa very rarely do i get tailgated...i'm always the one flashing others lol...just kidding...not....hahaha kidding...not :P

I've been driving for what 10 years now on these roads and its nothing compared to what it was before, people are getting more and more reckless and they just dont seem to have any respect for people on the roads. 15 years back there was no such thing as White landcruiser owning the roads, now everyone is afraid of them. The other day i was getting flashed by......wait for it...a suzuki swift!!!!

nowadays cars becomes more than people each person having 3 to 4 cars also many roads are closed, by other hand trucks should have a different timing tha work timing, and the biggest prblm is schools, when it closes there is no more traffic but after it opens thats wht we see in the pic posted by lawa

patience.....

they should bring in a law to make use of the school bus mandatory rather than let the parents drop off thier kids at school

The most worse moment is that when you are in lane and someone try to getting in Do you often find yourself a target for road rage? Are you a victim of tailgating, flashing highlights, and horn-honking? The main thing to remember when driving is to clearly broadcast to other drivers what you intend to do at all times. This may be difficult, considering you can't speak at length with other drivers think at that moment what happen

I totally agree with smoke bcz its very hard to wake up them early morning and then suffer a lot of stress on the road to let them reach on time to school

"Why the hell do kids need to go to school so early in the morning?

BECAUSE their fathers, when they were kids used to get early up and go to school - tats why....:(

and by the way, getting up early in the morning is a good habit - Tats wat my ancesistors told me when i was a kid...:(

By smoke• 27 Sep 2012 07:23

Its not all about driving slow or fast..its work timings coinciding with school timings. Authorities need to find a way to fix this. Why the hell do kids need to go to school so early in the morning?

Before schools started I could reach my office in 10 mins..now it takes me almost 45 mins on the same road..no thanks to the cops that think they are easing traffic!

By Rizks• 27 Sep 2012 07:12

Now a days more people are getting new driving license and dont know how to drive on road...:(

I think in driving schools they teach tat FAST LANE's are meant to drive at a speed of a Turtle....:(

Other thing is our great Engineers who do construction works almost EVERYWERE...:( They dig the new roads which is made just a month back just coz they forgot to take their tools, mobile phones, or toothpicks which they forgot while constructing the same road...:(
