Milk from Diary Farm - Dangerous?

Milk from Diary Farm - Dangerous?
While doing a little research on the Diary industry I came across multiple reports that directly or indirectly talk about the A2 & A1 type of milk, and talked about Its advantages and its disadvantages.

Did you know the milk that you consume, as of today, could be doing more bad for your health than good?

There are two main Breed of cow - one without the hump (Jersey or Holstein Cow) and the one with the hump (Zebu Cow). These two breed of cow produce entirely different kind of milk and meat, although the produce of both breeds look similar the properties are different.

The Zebu breed produces below 10 Liters or of A2 Milk a day while humpless cow like Jersey cow or the Holstein cow produce 50 liters of A1 Milk. Due to the high volume of milk production all diary farmers use the Jersey Cow or the Holstein or its variety to maximize profit.

These Cattle are known to produce high quantity of milk but the quality is very poor and the milk is indigestible inducing a feeling of “lactose intolerance”. The various problems associated with this milk is:
• Autism,
• Diabetes
• Sudden death Syndrome in infants
• Ulcerative colitis,
• Cardiac problems
• Multiple sclerosis,
• Mental disorders
• Parkinson & Schizophrenia.

But these breed of cattle produce good quality meat for consumption while for the Zebu cow the quality of meat is poor while the quality of milk is very good.

It is due to this fact Indians never used to consume meat of Cow (as all Indian breed have hump, which was indirectly mentioned in religious books) but Indians used to consume its milk and its derivatives like curds, buttermilk and clarified butter heavily.

It is said that even if man was to live on no other food other than the milk from the Zebu breed of Cow he would do fine.

It is becoming increasingly difficult for food, agriculture and public health professionals to ignore the issue of A2 versus A1 milk. A1 milk has now been implicated in relation to Type I diabetes, heart disease, autism and schizophrenia.

All Govts NZ, EC are buying time, in the mean while the Dairy Industries/ Farmers are quietly embarking upon strategies to change their breeding policies to make complete switch over to A2 milk in next ten years.

Situation in India
Govt of India has taken cognizance of A1/A2 . NABGRI Karnal (Haryana) has been asked to make a study of cattle situation in India. Preliminary studies have confirmed the hypothesis that Indian Breeds of cows produce safe A2 type milk. The focus of the dairy industry in Gujarat was on buffalo milk because of its fat content. So the Gir breed was neglected, resulting in the dwindling of both its numbers and pedigree.

Researchers in AIIMS Delhi are already involved in health aspects of A1/A2 milk. Research is already going on for fast DNA detection tools to identify A1/A2 milk producing cows in India.

NABGRI’s future Work will be the Promotion of Indian Breeds of Cows, which are confirmed as A2 milk producers and rethinking of Indian Cross Breeding Strategies.

Brazil today has emerged as the world's biggest supplier of improved cattle embryos and semen of Indian origin, now rated among the best dairy breeds in the world. The demand is particularly high from African and Southeast Asian countries. The Indian 'holy cow' has turned out to be a great money-spinner for Brazil.

Milk is indeed the perfect diet for humans. Which is why 0 out of 100 nutritionists recommend giving cows milk to infants.

1. milk is 'the perfect' diet (contains almost all needed ingredients) for humans, I know it, believe it, period

2. Raw milk is really tasty, sweetish, no cow dung smell as such, surrounding dung may have its effect though. BUT a lot depends on WHAT a Cow has been FED,

“What shall we do”

Cherrukan... here we cannot do much.. but how many acres of land you have back home? You surely can put a Gir cow that will make do with the grass available from the field. Your family back home will be healthy and you can not only rediscover the art to make butter and ghee at home but make sure the kids have as much ice cream from it as well. I am sure your grandparents used Ghee liberally. Actually we will become more healthy if we discard “refined sunflower oil” “refined corn oil” “refined groundnut oil” etc and cook all food in home made Ghee as today it will be difficult to find PURE coconut oil or PURE groundnut oil.

My next “research” will be on the bad effects of “refined” oil.

I am not sure about the dung taste... that Frenchies claim about... but I have heard about people who have consumed fresh milk without boiling... especially the people who come to milk the cow... and they never had any problem with either the taste or the smell... in fact I have even seen it milked in front of me and never encountered any bad odour as such...

“Milk is not good for humans, period. It’s meant for baby cows, People are not supposed to drink it.”

Baby cows don’t drink full. If a cow is unmilked and is producing a lot of milk then the pressure would be exceedingly uncomfortable and infection could occur. This is true for women also who suddenly have to stop breastfeeding.

All the topic relating to people being allergic to cows milk is due to the A1 type of milk which is not healthy at all. In fact it is truly unhealthy and not fit for human consumption.

LP... at least till 5,000 ago Indians thrived on milk and its by product.. Ghee... all Indian ayurvedic medicines are based on ghee. And I don’t think these morden day guys were around there to check that out.

Best Almond milk ... ground almond into thin paste add to milk... add sugar to taste... awesome

“Are you saying milk can cause these disorders?” – not by ALL milk, but by A1 type of milk. A2 is excellent milk and is even medicinal; there are scientific evidence for it. A Zebu cow can not only withstand Arsenic (a potent poison) but the arsenic doesn’t pass into its blood stream, nor to its milk... meaning the milk is pure and has low fat content.

Soy milk is completely different. Soyabean is vegetable. As Nomerci rightly says, there are claims that Soyabean available today is genetically modified... anyway that’s a completely different subject.

Oval tin or complan as are all milk supplements fooling people... see here:

Lactose intolerance... is a symptom consumption of milk from Jersey cow or similar breed... and should not happen with the Zebu breed. Gir have a set of nerves in the hump, getting energy from the sun... that is what sets them apart. Their milk is slightly yellow in colour too. They are also very strong yet social. Some bulls have been known to kill lions that have tried to attack the herd. Gir the place of this cow’s breed is also the abode of the Asiatic Lions.

Yogurt and cheese, milk shake, Ice cream all use A1 milk so they are equally unhealthy. But they would have been so much healthier if it had been made from A2 type of milk.

“scholars didn’t have milk in their child hood” Which scholars?

“That zebu cow does not even look like a cow!” – that is exactly my point. Both these breed look entirely different. Their properties are also entirely different. An European will say that Zebu is not a COW.... Indians also say the same... Jersey cow is not a COW.

“There has been way so much controversy about MILK for a very long time and the truth no one can assert if it is good or bad for you”.

The discussion ends when one is aware about the two breeds and the vastly different quality of MILK & MEAT of both these breed. Jersey’s Meat is good & Zebu’s Milk is good Period.

“I heard that you can go to a camel farm in Qatar and drink fresh camel milk straight from the udder..”...

there are people on QL who attempted to milk a camel unsuccessfully at Darude’s farm outing ... lol

There are farms breeding cow in Qatar. Some years back, Oman made an unusual request to India. The oil-rich Middle East country was looking for four purebred animals of the cattle breed – “Tharparkar” — found only in the dry and arid regions of Rajasthan. Tharparkar derives its name from its unique genetic ability that enables the animal to walk across the massive desert of Thar in Rajasthan, India. It took India several years to procure four genetically pure Tharparkar bulls. Thar-par-kar means the one who can cross the Thar Desert (possible on limited feed).

Milk is also know to be a good cleansing agent. The best way to bath is to bath in milk. It is also environment friendly. Kings and Queens used to bath in it.

I like the dungy taste of milk because it's the taste of rawness. It shows that the milk is fresh and has not been processed in anyway.

All raw milk has that strong dungy taste and milk that doesn't (supermarket milk) is highly questionable.

You people do not seem to have ever drunk fresh raw milk in your life as even we Muslims are told in the Quran (16:66):

"And indeed for you in grazing livestock is a lesson. We give you drink from what is in their bellies - between EXCRETION and blood - pure milk, PALATABLE to drinkers."

This is where real milk comes from. You people are so used to the fake ulra-pasteurized zero-nutrients supermarket milk that you've lost all notions of what fresh raw milk is and has always been like.

Come on, Brit! Don't be so squeamish.

There was a time when mineral-rich dung fertilized the soil that grew our food which basically means that there was a time when dung was in our food.

Now dung's been replaced by chemical fertilizers but I still have not forgotten the dung taste...

Joke aside, I know how something tastes like from its smell and if the word taste bothers you this much then replace it by smaste or smelly taste.

That zebu cow does not even look like a cow!

There has been way so much controversy about milk for a very long time and the truth no one can assert if it is good or bad for you. Some people have no problem drinking milk and others do.

Milk has protein/Carbs/Fat + other minerals etc..

The protein of milk is a mix of 2 protein (casein & whey)

Now as we age, our body stops needing casein and even if you are young and you do not drink milk for a while, the body also starts to get used to not needing it. When this happens, the body reacts in a weird way when you suddenly consume milk because it thinks it is something harmful to you. So it tries to attack those protein molecules which is why you feel like crap when you have milk after a long while of not having it...(this protein issue has to do with your immune system attacking casein or whey or both)

The other problem is with milk is the simple carb (Lactose), now that bad boy can cause very frequent and unpleasant toilet visits if you are lactose intolerant ( meaning your body does not produce the enzyme lactase that is supposed to break down that car in your small intestines).. therefore, the molecules move into the large intestines causing your lovely bacteria to feed on them and this is what makes you poop like a shameless soldier...

If you never have problems drinking milk, go for it ... It can't be as unhealthy as soda or coffee!

In India Mughals and Rajasthani Kings used to drink almond milk. Soaked overnight in rosé water and in the morning a paste with kesar used to boil with water for several hours with Shakkar in it.... Cow or buffalo milk was for the lower public.

Seems like everything these days causes kids to get autism... strange, where are all the kids who were born with autism from a generation ago? No one wants to blame excessive TV watching and sedentary lifestyles for any negative health outcomes but we're quick to blame milk, and measles inoculations.

As for the idea that cows milk is best when fed to baby cows - completely agree.

Perhaps, and here's a revolutionary idea, kids (and adults) could go back to just drinking water, instead of all this nonsense with soy milk and cow's milk and diet sodas.

Fubar, don't know about vaccinations, as I am all pro vaccinating. Am not sure about the diseases either, may be possible though. Still, my main reason is that milk is meant for baby cows, not humans. Digesting it is very cumbersome for our system.

Plus, the way cows are treated and miled now is far from ok.....I've been told that many cows have infections on the udders due to milking, and all that goes into the milk, which is one reason why it needs to be "killed" pasteurized...so, vile stuff, IMHO.

There are not enough cows in Qatar to supply almost two-million people with fresh milk. I have driven all around the place and the only cow that I have seen was some random, poor excuse for a cow at QAWS. Nor have I ever seen a milk tanker on the roads.

Tell Mrs. Britexpat to buy almonds with the skin on, to put them in a blender with water, and to blend on "high" for a few minutes, then strain it through a cloth or sieve. It keeps for about 4 days in the fridge.

I used to let it simmer very lightly, not ULTRA PASTEURIZE it like supermarket milk, and drink it along with the cream and I absolutely loved it!

I never got sick by the grace of Allah.

The reason i don't do that anymore is that fresh raw milk is not available in Qatar.

All we have here is, excuse me for saying that, DISGUSTING white sewage water milk, ultra pasteurised until all the good bacteria are destroyed along with the bad ones and compensated for with synthetic vitamins.

So repugnant that I almost cancelled milk from my diet.
