To all BMW car owners,

I am considering to buy pre-owned BMW car i.e. 2008,2009 or 2010.

1) Would you advise buying a Sports Sedan (BMW 3-series or 5 series) or 4x drive for a second family car? I don't stay in Doha itself.

2) Somebody told me the maintenance for BMW car is very high.In terms of maintenance, what is the average QR we need to spend monthly for BMW car i.e. 2008, 2009 or 2010 ?

Many thanks

1. How big is your family? 4x4 is good if you have more kids or drive to beaches often, else 5 series would be fine. I always find 3 series to be too small for family unless you are a young couple.

2. Pre-owned from a private owner or pre-owned CPO purchased from BMW? Better if you purchase a new or a used car from BMW used car showroom. Yes, BMW maintenance is expensive but if you buy a new car or your car is under warranty then BMW takes care of all your maintenance and even wear and tear. Best part is that you don't need to pay anything for it!

I suggest that you buy a 2011 onwards 5 series or X5 and enjoy trouble free drive for several years.

1. For a family car, a BMW 4x4 would be a good choice.

2. Maintenance is high when compared to japanese car brands... however, it depends which BMW vehicle you're going for... 5-series is known to give a lot of problems and from what i've heard, it stays more at the BMW garage than with the owner where as 3-series and 7-series are mostly trouble-free..

i would advise you to check www.drivearabia.com... they have good listings from technical specs to trouble spots for all car brands...

1. For a second car, a BMW 4x4 would be a good choice.

2. That's why BMW are kept by rich people, because they don't sum up the monthly average maintenance...let's just say when they bought it, they are ready in whatever the car needs.

3. For all BMW car owners - I was...
