What is the level of security in southern Oman (Salalah)? Is it safe to live and work there for a major resort? Thank you!

Guys, it turned out to be the best decision so far. Omanis are very nice people and Salalah is absolutely splendid. Thank you all for your positive input.

I have lived and worked there personally and in my view, Salalh in particular and Oman in general are few of the better places in this region.

Salalah is wonderful - Yemen is a whole different scenario but not affecting Salalah at all.

Oman is a great place to live and work in. Don't know about how socially active Salalah will be, but I think you will enjoy the place ;-)

Wow! Wasn't expecting this positive feedback about Oman. Was actually thinking it's an insecure place to live, haunted by pirates, pretty much like Yemen. Such a relief now. :)

second you opinions both, Oman is a great place to live and Salalah is one of the best place in GCC, for the matter of the security no worries at all. I wish I could get a job back in Oman since I have already been there. Wish for you the best in your job if you took it.

They're very humble and polite. Some of the roads in Muscat to a certain extent remind me of Cali :-)

Although I've not been there personally, I heard that Salalah is a beautiful place here in the GCC.

From my experience in Muscat, the Omani's are one of the best people out here, so I'm guessing the same will apply to Salalah as well.

Enjoy your time :-)
