I saw each 1 in 10 cars, either the drivers busy on phone. Or Flashing blowing horn, when you are waiting in a signal or roundabout to get the exit clear. or Suddenly overtaking from wrong side. And approx 9 in 10 cars don't use indicators.Why everyone is in hurry. If they have money, why can't they educate themselves.

Anyone can drive, but its different to drive following the basic traffic rules! I think lots are lacking this. They need education I guess.

Why these people make trouble to others? How many of you reading this, follow traffic rules. Think about it! Don't hide your inability to follow basic things in life, saying you were in hurry.

its my history have never gave way to any CRUISER and vice versa 4x4 i drive and old honda civic but why the hell i be giving em ways i mean i dnt drive a car or and they dnt see the speed limit this thing really drives me NUTS

I only overtake from the right side when the idiot on the left lane won't budge after being flashed a few times. I would usually get in front of him, and brake, then hit the gas pedal a few meters before he hits me.

I do it in all my cars, not only the LandCruiser.

We are driving in Right Lane Road,,, so well educated drivers know that left, middle and right lane are for fast, mid fast and slow vehicles respectively.

if i overtake from the fast lane i make sure that i need to go back to mid lane. Overtaking in right side in not recommended but its actually happening.

No matter what car you drive its driven by the driver. People in Qatar fear tailgating drivers. I will give one instance, I drive a land cruiser as well. Yes there is a general fear in people that they seem to be scared of a Land Cruiser or for that fact any 4X4 vehicle that is behind them. I was on the 80kms road (Doha College) there was this guy in a Toyota Corolla who was flashing non stop at me. He looked like a Arab National but not a Qatari. So in this case it was a Toyota Corolla.

Anyway we cannot generalize. Land Cruiser has a bad reputation just because out of 10 cars 6 happen to be a Land Cruiser.

The Car does not have a mind of its own and most of the drivers of Land Cruiser's forget to take mind of their own with them the moment they step inside a Land cruiser.. lol

Well, sooner or later every asshole gets one or the other.

Weather emergency or not, weather Qatari or not (HAGAER this is not about nationality), and for whatever reason...

1. If someone behind your car and speeding, OPEN THE WAY, even if you are doing speed limits it’s not your road and there is always another lane you can use.

2. If someone behind your car and speeding, OPEN THE WAY, even if they had no reason and doing it for fun (as me) by the way speed is not by nationality.

3. If the car behind you old or new, expensive or cheap, open the way and have some morals and kindness towards others.

4. Stop hanging everything you don’t like or –ve experience you have on locals!! And respect that they have a culture that might suit you or not, remember your culture doesn’t suit them as well! Remember that you are on their country and not yours! So adapt as other visit your country adapt to your country rules too.

Hmmmm try driving a smaller car (corolla, sunny, tiida...) for a week in the 3rd Lane and you will find the answer for yourself. Just make sure not to come infront of me while driving at that time.

it's both.... "most" people driving LC's or any other 4x4 sucks and probably think they can do anything they want on the road... and, an itty-bitty car compared to these monster trucks? well, who wouldn't move to the right eh... :P

been driving in doha roads for more than 4 years. dont really care about these landcruisers. as long as im within the speed limit. they can be annoying, i try to annoy them more by letting them move instead of me swerving to the right lane.

sorry but I am laughing because to me, flashing means something quite different than flashing lights!!! If anyone did the kind of flashing I am thinking of..those Land Cruisers would end up going end over end and never feel it!!!

I give way to all cars that come up behind me.... it just so happens that 90% of them happen to be land cruisers.

peolpe move to the right coz land cruisers owners are very very bad drivers !!!when they buy a land cruiser they give them a driving licence as a voucher!!!

EXPERIENCE WISE 95% WHO OWN LAND CRUISER ARE KING OF THE SPEED LANE. NEVER TRY TO GO THEIR LANE OTHERWISE FLASHING LIGHT WILL HIT YOUR EYES.....IF ONLY HAVE ONE LAND CRUISER ....NEVER I INTIMIDATE ONE IN FRONT OF ME....OPPS .....I GO ONE.....

yeah its good to give way to Land Cruisers rather than keeping them behind you car. You will much comforatble.

i drive a Pajero my self and still giving the road for the Land Cruisers even if they did not ask for it ;) cos in less that 3 seconds they may change their minds and rush into my car.. offensive driving is the habit of the Land Cruisers drivers but u are the exception

By the way...I have an EXPENSIVE CAR and WHEN a 1960 car behind me needs away i OPEN THE WAY for HIM BY MY self..CONSIDERING THE ROAD IS NOT MINE!!!

I wonder why some people waite until someone to flash for them so they understand that they have to move!

I drive daily inside Doha and from Ras Laffan too..And lately i notice some people wont move if you where not rude to them or treat them in bad way!! LEFT LINE IS CALLED HIGH SPEED LINE...WEATHER U LIKE IT OR NOT!!

they refuse to move forgetting that sometimes the car behind them might be speeding for an emergency! or late for somthing or for a reason sometimes!! but yet some people ALWAYS LOVE FEELING THEY ARE LOW AND BEING TREATED THAT WAY...SO THEY REFUSE TO MOVE TO ANY CAR UNTILE ITS AN EXPENSIVE CAR....i think that what i call brain problems and even no brain sometimes..

It's already a MINDSET of people in Qatar, that 90% of Landcruiser/big car owners are Qataris, therefore they are treated as KING/SHEIKH of QATAR ROADS, hence, people driving small cars give way to KINGS OF QATAR ROADS...

If you are NOT a QATARI, then LUCKY YOU that you were given the right of way treated like as KING/SHEIKH...

(and by the way, KINGS rule if there accidents happen as mentioned above by other people)

Bleu is right, drive an expensive car and people move. Noms is mistaken, most people with expensive cars can afford full insurance, and no one wants to have an accident with a car that is going to take at least QR 20,000 to fix a dent. Who wants the hassle of going to court for it, and the possible QR 10,000 fine that can accompany it.

Noms, if you can afford a half million riyal car chances are money is not an issue. ____________________________________________________

The reason is,... from my experience ,... that the Cruser driver are usually careless and crazy. if you don't move, he'll hit you from the back and you'll end at the side of the street, and he'll continue with no harm.

It happened twice with my friends... can u imagine that..!!!

bleu,, people driving lambo are most concious about accidents .. they knw what they will have to pay incase they meet an accident....but most people in land cruisers are weekly sealine visitors...they aint scared to accidents...probably so used to it..LOL

hummer dosent pick speed...till the time u start chasing any car,,that would have reached the roundabout :D

I drive a sports car and also own a cruiser,, i prefer cruiser when iam in hurry...believe me people are scared when they see a cruiser than a sports car behind them......specially as i have halogen fog & head lights..lolzz

it all depends on what ur driving if its something big and and expensive than the land cruiser then u will stick to your lane ........its all about luxury and money.

try NOT to drive using Land Cruiser for a week.... and you'll find out, why you must automatically move to the right when Land Cruiser is behind you!

But still, Y other drivers are afraid of LAND CRUISERS or similiar 4x4...??.
