keeping the faith in an arrogant country

heero_yuy2
By heero_yuy2

Inspired by britexpat's previous post about practicing their own religion, I thought I'd like to know how one's sense of faith (whether in his/her family or religion or his culture, his virtue, etc.) stays in this environment where there seems to be no understandable system and one's main purpose of leaving their country to stay here fer awhile. I heard that people change, we cannot deny the fact. Well, for the wrong part, it's usual, but do we hear changes for the better 'round here?

Affairs, abuses, discriminations, arrogance, fear, homesickness, misunderstandings...yes, it may change a man.

How strong can one hold on to his own sense of faith or virtue?

There is good & bad in every part of this little world, my dear people, and if you cannot keep your faith in one place then it probably would not make much change if you moved somewhere else.

Faith doesn't have much to do with where you are, but who you choose to be in light of the situation.

Go on holidays every 3 to 4 months, it works for me. Go away somewhere nice, meet friendly people, strike up conversation with strangers, meet women who do not act like dewa's (not that i blame them, its all about demand and supply principal) and that makes you realize... Its not me, its them.

heero_yuy2 calling a country an arrogant reflects the opposite to you. maybe Qatar deserves an apology from you.

Poverty is not for the sake of hardship. No, it is there because nothing exists but God. Poverty unlocks the door -- what a blessed key!

I never have the foggiest idea (translation: I'm clueless) as to what heero is talking about!

It's always just random words thrown together which make no sense; a kind of directionless free flowing, automatic writing, stream of consciousness EXPLOSION!!!

I always assume he is very, very drunk.

And this is how I imagine heero:

well.. i don't know if this is of any relevance, but today morning i'd gone to hamad to get a couple of shots. and you might know how the parking situation is there, since they've decided to dig up the road and build god knows what... it was really hot, i was circling around, looking for a spot, and then i found one. waited for the car to reverse and as i casually flicked on the indicator, someone swooped in and parked there before i could yell something appropriate. i didnt see any point in pursuing the matter, as there was a line behind me, and then i saw the driver get out and run, chased by another driver who i guess was claiming the spot was his... IT WAS MY SPOT!! i didnt know whether to laugh or cry, and ended up parking on the opposite side of the road :(
