I want good school for my children!
Dear fellows , i need your help to please guide me for a good school in Doha (G-3/4. and KG). Most of the schools are making only money not concerning with the education. I am intrested in a school , which is focusing on education along with extra curricular activities. In education main subjects are Mathermatics,Science, English, socisal studies, ITC, Islamic studies in English , Qatar History in English and basic arabic. I want to leave the old school due to attitude of the school management. They are not understanding the geniune issues. All of sudden they change basic arabic into advance arabic, islamic studies in arabic and qatar history is in arabic. This decesion was not appriciated most of the parents. I hope someone will guide me for quality of education with cost is the concern. Regards.

I want to change my daughter's school as well. Presently she goes to a British National Curriculum School but it is in Al waab and far from where we live.
Pattigeho, How is the English Modern School? What curriculum does the school follow? Are the teachers native English speakers?
You will need to do some research on that subject. Some schools have been going through changes because of SEC regulations that have come out recently.
I work at the English Modern School in Wakra. I am a KG2 teacher and I know we are going through a transition time with a new primary building being built to open in the fall of 2013.
I know you really have to decide what you want from the school. There are some which offer just the basic curriculum, some which offer a British curriculium and some IB schools. I know that right now schools are currently taking applications for the fall of 2013 so you will need to decide soon.
Always look beyond the "selling ads" of the school. See if you can talk to parents who have their children there and ask them about how they like it. Take a tour and see what are in the classrooms. Some schools are packing the rooms with too many children. I understand that the SEC is allowing up to 30 children in a room but I am not sure if that is primary on up or what.
I hope that gives you some tips as to what to do.
schools r waste of money
... big time!
