As our religions has instilled in our childhood, many of us have learned how to view pornography and still maintain our distance from it at the same time. Few, if any, of us subscribe to Playboy or Penthouse. Yet many have newspaper and magazines advertisements laying around the house. Have you ever looked at the bathers or underwear ads just for the sexual titillation?
It is necessary to begin looking at pornography in broader terms than simply pictures of naked or semi-naked bodies.
Underwear and bathers ads, body building and teen magazines and other various magazines for women also feature models that are displayed and clothed in a potentially pornographic manner. Pictures taken Gentleman’s Quarterly, Vogue and Cosmopolitan are frequently found decorating the walls of flats and bedrooms. These pictures are also found inside of the locker doors in schools and workplaces, too.
I think the advertising industry is using the exploitation of the body more blatantly than ever before. Intimate physical details are no longer being airbrushed out of photographed models; such details are even being drawn in on newsprint ad models.
Pornography = Sexually explicit pictures, writing, or other material whose primary purpose is to cause sexual arousal.

I can explain my friend, I joined this forum the same day cutesrk was banned which was real coincidence, and moreover i was new to this place and i was keen on learning other cultures. Thts why some of the thoughts i learnt pretty much bear the similarity to those of cutesrk's thats all..... What a coinicidence, So i was interested in learning the rules of the forum and in process went thru all his posts... and the idea of a ban was ridiculous

As usual, the problem is someone wants to tell me what is good or bad for me. I don't need someone making my moral decisions, that is my job. I don't mind having a discussion but if I choose to disagree, I don't want someone to kill me because I think they are crazy.
Some of the greatest art of all time is of the nude human body. There are things I find offensive that I choose to overlook, why should it be problem if 1) I don't have to participate 2) I can turn it off 3) it does not cause problems for me.

Pornography is not simply about naked or semi-naked bodies, or some of the greatest works of art in human history would be considered pornography. I think it's more how you choose to view it. I've seen spreads in Playboy that I thought were actually quite artistically done and I couldn't help but admire the women for how beautiful she was, I've watched movies with sex scenes and nudity that have won Oscars and have made me cry because they were so powerful.
This is not to say that Debbie does Dallas is an artistic wonder, that's porn. But I think it's porn for several reasons, one: when you watch it you feel as if you are doing something naughty, two: there's no storyline or even an attempt at justification, it's simply gratuitous sex.
I think reason number one is the most important one to consider, why do we look at the act of sex or naked bodies with guilty feelings (which of course become erotic feelings)? After all we all have sex and we are all naked under our clothes?
These guilty feelings are brought on by religion and our upbringing, and I think if we could shed this idea that nudity, sex and our bodies are bad sinful things you would see an end to porn.
