Horrendous traffic

it took us 1 hour to reach Hilal this morning from Muntazah! There was a lorry stuck in the Al Tadamon R/A and no traffic police in sight.

Shouldn't they, the traffic police be responsible in towing this bogged down lorry?

The tadamon roundabout traffic lights were on the blink with the super efficient traffic police controlling traffic, hence the HUGE jams in hilal & muntazah...when i finally got to the roundabout from mall roundabout in about 20 MINUTES,i see the cop waltzing around disinterested, twirling the walkie talkie in his hands,a couple of guys in boiler suits & reflective jackets apparently there to fix the traffic lights but who were just hanging about looking clueless...the stuck lorry wasn't helping matters...& no it isn't the traffic police's job to tow away a broken down lorry,or to regulate traffic when the traffic lights are busted or anything of the sort, whatever gave you people that idea...they're meant to sit around in the station drinking endless cups of tea, eating egg sandwiches from the cafeteria & generally shooting the breeze, that activity takes time & effort people, please understand...

My son was late for school, I was late for work. I hope it appears in the newspaper so everyone will understand.

Al Waab Street can be declared as Qatar's F1 Track.

the pressence of other drivers opn the road, but also to remeber there are speed limitS that some people just simply ignore and go driving like if they are in a F1 or Nascar race going side by side, tailgating, flashing lights and even using the right most lane to overcome vehicles; thus creating a bigger danger to others.

I have seen quite a few near misses, and I have been involved in some of those those near misses too.

Definitely there is a need of Law Enforcement, with real punishment (at least in the Traffic side; a little bit more than now I mean).

Regards!!

Yeah - I saw the Al Waab crash this morning too. The only reason that road is such an accident zone is because everybody drives like lunatics down it. Maybe acceptable late at night (except it keeps me awake), but during the rush hour at least half the drivers here need to start recognising that there are actually other vehicles on the road!

yea, it was a nightmare.. :( we had to divert to another longer route ... but thankfully, there wasnt that much traffic there.

There was a terrible accident of a mini van this morning on the way from Al Waab signal towards Villagio, badly crashed and i think the driver was seriously injured, saw them load him into the ambulance. :(

Yeah... it normally takes around 15 minutes maximum for me from Muntazah to Hilal but today....it was hell. I took Haloul Street & then took D-Ring to drop my daughter at her school....slightly late though. :(
