I am lucky that my family has their own doctor who lives in our grounds. He does all the vaccinations, wellbeing tests, etc, general first aid. He's pretty cool although yet to find a cure for the common cold (he gives us magic tablets to dissolve in water that really help the cold symptoms though. Said they were made by a Teacher who was fed up of catching germs from her pupils. whenever we fly we always take them wherever we go!!!) he's been with us for some time now. I'm lucky, I know.

The last time I had stitches they did a dodgy job which left a horrible scar on my arm and had to get plastic surgery....I think I would have done a better job!

That should be a new forum topic...who has the most hideous scar from stitches :D

yes, sort of. it's a smll gadget which 'staples' softish threadlike stitches into the area. Actually it didn't feel too bad and didn't need a local injection. It's his latest toy. He's always got some impressive medical gadget to show us.

thanks! doc used a sort of funky human stapler which I had never seen before.

Oh, stitches are terrible, I know how painful they are..... especially when it involves the head....ouch! Hope you get better soon :)

I don't regret anything I have written. Unfortunately some of the comments I did write offended others, so I decided to delete them in good faith, as I don't want to offend people. As many have said on here, what might offend others doesn't offend me, vice versa. It has nothing to do with what comes into my mind, it’s just me. Take it or leave it! I apologised to the people I offended so shall we leave it at that?

and it hurts so bad!!!!!!!!!! I've put myself in splendid isolation so I can have a bit of peace and quiet. Can't stand noise as have perma headache.

link was brilliant...thanx! lots to choose from...I've copied one onto my computer and then uploaded it twice. if I remember rightly the last time I changed mine it took a few days so maybe I just have to wait a bit longer.

Am not on speaking terms with my pool as yesterday I was doing some laps and then trying to do a fancy lap turn like you see Olympic swimmers do...it went badly wrong and my head hit the edge and split. The doctor was summoned and he gave me five stitches!!!!!!!!! It's quite a small thing but there was a lot of blood in the pool which my little nephews thought was cool and they started swimming around me pretending to be sharks.

Sorry to hear about your head...how did you manage to crack it open in the pool?

With the avatar it took me around 6 attempts for my new one to come up...just be patient and it will....how did you go with the link I sent you?

hala wala Darude. I can't sleep...have been nursing my head all day as I cracked it open in my pool yesterday and needed stitches. Didn't go out tonight as I cannot bear noise with this head!!! Am alone in silence. I did as you suggested but my new avatar has not come yet. Des it take some time?

Every one must know and realise that they should not type what ever they get in to their mind.

When we were using Ink as only source of writing ,my teacher used to say "THINK BEFORE YOU INK".

We have to apply same principle now,think before type and dont regret later saying Delete option should have been there.
