Gym on D-Ring that allows women

Gypsy
By Gypsy

Ok, since it appears that Gold's Gym only caters to desperate housewives (i.e. women are only allowed from 7 am till 12 pm, I mean WTF? Sorry I'm at work) Are there any other gyms that cater to women on D-Ring, or are we just expected to sit at home and pop out babies?

I was waiting for the weather to be at bearable temperatures and to take my car from service. So I am thinking not to go any fitness club for myself. I know that for ladies its harder to go jogging or such things outside. Sorry for you ladies :S.

ok here you go..

D-Ring Rd., Al Mashata Beauty Centre, just opposite to Gold's Gym.

there is a Gym inside on this Beauty Salon, for...

500.00 - 14 days or

600.00 - 30 days.. I didn't even get that one, not 1 month, but 30 days.. and what about the months with 31 days in it? or 28 days? no one could answer my question..

but anyway.. what are those ridiculous prices??

I used to be enrolled in Gym in Toronto for 50 bucks (QR170)a month.. and that one was not the cheapest one! you can get a Gym for $ 39.99 (QR 136), $29.99 (QR 100), or even upon the promotion for $19.99 (QR 70)a month! The most expensive Gyms are for about $90-110 (QR 310-380), with the gold furniture in the halls, with the gold stairs and silver lockers...with free coffee after Gym, with sauna/jacuzzi, with 100 attendants in the gym, + + +...

so paying 600 a month for few cheap machines - btw, selection of them is expremly poor in EVERY gym in qatar - sounds a bit insane to me...

Genesis Sharq is really out of my way, especially with the mess that is traffic there right now.

Yeah but one must be flexible. this is like asking for a McDonald that has to be 5 meters away from your door XD

I always find parking there..the furthest i park is next to mandarin.

No harm in walking a bit...you still need to worm up before you exercise :D

nooo.. Doha is NOT expensive! not at all!!

aliakhatoon, good news? here you go: if couple of years back membership in Intercon was about 10,000-11,000 a year, now it's 18,000 and the waiting list..

is that good enough for you?

Al Masa gym behind chillies has a womans section that is open from 6 am till 12 i believe.

I was hoping to join the gym when I arrive in doha. But it looks like that i wont be able to, with the high rates.

I pay 44 pounds a month for my membership in a four star hotel with a gym, pool, sauna and steam room in the UK.

Compare this with Doha well you do the Maths.

I was expecting a life change....and surely i will... back into the dark ages! So not only is housing rental sky high, but we cant even find a suitable gym for women how depressing.

If anyone has any good news to tell me that will make me happy please do so.

Go to Sahati Mall on Qatar Decoration R/A. they are good... what about QF gym? you used to go there, didn't you?

Trying out for the olympics anytime soon?

No wonder you have such a fab body. Two hours a day, 5 days a week for 10 years is amazing.

I reckon it will take a year to get back in shape after 3 rugrats.

Anyone know if al massa active has a pool?

Hmmm...I know someone on this site is moving into a compound up the street....hmmmm maybe she;ll let us use her gym.

By tallg• 16 Nov 2008 10:38

I wasn't suggesting you live in BHT! I said that they let non-residents use their facilities for a fee. Perhaps there's a compound or apartment block near you that does the same.

By Gypsy• 16 Nov 2008 10:38
Gypsy

Looks like I'll have to keep using the gym on my parents compound and just make the long drive everyday. :(

By anonymous• 16 Nov 2008 10:37

Plenty of gyms around town, Gypsy. All mentioned already. But none of them are on D-ring, so it looks like you're gonna have to drive a bit.

Or stay at home and pop out babies.

By tallg• 16 Nov 2008 10:37
tallg

Wow, that's expensive. I thought gyms in the UK were a lot, but they don't cost that much (or they didn't last time I checked).

I'm sure Beverly Hills Tower didn't charge that much for non-residents to use the gym.

I meant the apartments, not the gyms. Apartments at Beverly Hills Towers and such are like 12,000 QR or more a month. Way out of my price range.

QR 1299/ 3 months

I do not know the exact price for ladies but for men it was 1450 QAR for 3 months. And they are selling brand new gym set for 2000 QAR in the sports shop at Mall. I was confused to buy the set and run at the corniche, or to go gym. Since I cant get my car from service till now I cant do both :) ..LOL..

Fair enough. I didn't realise they were that much. BHT was quite reasonable if I remember correctly. So how much is Golds Gym charging?

I would if I could afford one of those places tallg, but I don't make that much money.

2 hours a day? Yikes, that seems a bit excessive!

Have you considered looking into apartment blocks and compounds that have gyms? Some places allow non-residents to use them for a fee (Beverley Hills Tower did this, but I realise that's bit too far for you).

Khanan...good for you..let your wife be in peace..when you at Gym..LOL

Gyps..guess they dont want to take a chance...they know their men better than us..LOL

I think Hotels dont have that Problem..they have special time for females...but women are allowed during mens time.Ramada and Al Dana club allows women.

By Gypsy• 16 Nov 2008 10:20

It's not that big an apartment Da. And just so you know I have a strict gym schedule of 2 hours a day 5 days a week and I've been doing that for over 10 years.

The only problem with that FS is I have to pay for full memberships at the hotels and that's expensive.

By qwertyness• 16 Nov 2008 10:16

yeah but all the hotels seem so expensive, with such long waiting lists!

that's a little ridiculous re: the hours at Golds gym. what do they think- that all women stay at home all day, like innanimate dolls awaiting the return of Husband?

By Khanan• 16 Nov 2008 10:09
Khanan

The problem is that here they don't have mixed gym..otherwise i wouldn't also mind working out along ladie...:)

I don't FS. The problem is that a lot of Gyms won't let you work out along with men and post ridiculous women's hours like 7am till 12 pm, when I'm at work.

I just got a new apartment and I want to find a gym close by.
