French action!

Hi I'm actually english but have been living in France for the past two years. I love it here but my husband and family live nd work in qatar, so have decided to bite the bullet and move across. I'm 27 and have two kids Noah 7 and Isabella 6, we are fluent french speakers and love french culture, (not including politics! lol). I really want my kids to continue their schooling in a french school as we plan to keep our home in Bordeaux and return at some point. Am also really keen to  make contact and make friends with some french people young, old no difference so I can still feel at home. Last time I was in Doha for christmas we had a real problem buying Magret which we're all addicted to!

Any hints tips advice or even if anyone knows the secret of carrying on a great social life out ther let me know. I know I'm going to miss coffee/wine on the terraces and my friends a lot!
