there doesnt look like much meat on them?

This species usually lives at great depths, but comes to the surface to feed. Sometimes when they die, they are washed ashore and cause a sensation. They are not edible, because the flesh is soft and spoils quickly. Oarfish are found in most tropical and temperate seas.

There is really nothing new about that fish. It is an oarfish, and we sometimes see them at sea while deep sea fishing. Ancient mariners thought they were sea serpents!Still, an odd looking creature!
khanan is rite, we human only discovered 3rd of the deep ocean creatures. and still more bizare creatures outhere deep deep down the ocean.
