I approached an agency with Company no objection letter to mobilize a maid. At that time they told me that I have to pay QR5500+ Visapproval QR250. Now each day they are asking for extra money. Last week they told me that I have to pay additional QR600 to cover increase in immigration cost. Today they are informing that I have to pay QR1800 more since I have selected a Muslim maid. Actually I did not ask for any religion.Could you please advise share your expereince/ knowledge.

Maid..

You cannot apply for Indian House maid. She can be from any nationality other than Indian!!!

With:

Company Noc

Salary certificate

Family Passport copy

Id Copies

apply to labour department and fill application form, they would decide whether you really need the Maid.

Then Go to Immigration & do same thing + request for a "Other" Nationality Kadama Visa. They will give you a receipt and after a few days again the results will be available. If the result is positive then you have 5 months to mobilise a maid.

It is then that the Manpower services are usefull to get a list of available Maids.

You could also ask somebody to send you a prospective maid's passport copy so as to convert the "Blank" visa into the person's name.

Manpower usually quote QR 6000 including the airfare (usually one way).

If the Maid has to return home due to medical-fail, your unsatisfaction, or her unsatisfaction then you have to shell out another QR 1800 to get other maid.

As for Manpower I guess Yellow pages in the Tel. Directory should suffice.

The Labour & Immigration part is easy (if you take along a person who speaks arabic so as to translate your & their quires).

I think the agency asked for unrealistic extra money, its better to check with ministry.

My housemaid has a sister that wants to come. If you need the details please pm me. She's Etiopian. All you need to do is apply for the Visa yourself and buy the ticket.

tell them that you're going to call the ministry to confirm this. (just bluff and see what they say)
