Donno where you've been living pal... but more than 5 working days off (not calendar days!), is an absolute dream.

Goverment sector gets more then a week n if it falls after a weekend it could stretch 9 to 11 days.

for the past 12 years, Eid ul Fitr is 3 days only! It's like Christmas to them!

It's more likely it will be on Saturday October 13 :), cuz (in my agenda) that's the first day of the new month of "Shawwal", and the last day of the month of "Ramadan" is Friday October 12. So hopefully for the private and public sectors, the holiday week would be starting on Sunday October 14 and onwards ? May be...

I'd been here for the last 5 years and since I work for Private Sector, I always have 3 days of EID Holidays but for the government sector it's always have been more than that.

Tentatively this year, it will fall on the 11th October which is Thursday, so just hoping the company I work for will consider to add more days since more likely it will fall on the weekend.

And the start and end of Ramadan is based on the crescent moon (am I correct, muslim brothers and sisters?

Cheers!

It all depends what day of the week the first day will be on. If it's a Saturday or a Sunday, then chances are that you will get 5 working days (like last year and the year before i think).

But if the first day falls on a Wednesday (!), then i'm not sure if you will get 5 working days starting Wednesday. May be other old timers can clraify from their past experiences.

I have a copy of the labor law and it states:

3 working days for Eid El Fitr

3 working days for Eid al Adha

1 working day for independence day

3 working days specified bt the employer

Hope this answers your question

I thought it's only 3 days, well then, it's good for a trip to Florence!

Hopefully, for private sector will be the same as for the government sector!

Cheers!
