OK, I didn't get healing answer for my question in Q&A section, so here I go again:
as per law, Is there any fine for eating while driving?

Big mistake on your part .. you should have asked that policeman if he needed a bite .. he may have been hungry too ..

how about nose picking while driving ? :(

Is it allowed ?

I think it takes talent to achieve something like this. Eating, drinking, texting, calling, adjusting the radio station, smoking and reading the newspaper all at the same time.

most probably ppl will not prefer to eat while driving unless they have special circumstances, & most probably they will not eat "mansaf" or heavy meal, therefore our discussion is about snacks and eatable things which can be handled while driving

in fact nowadays my lunch break is very short and during that tiny period i have to drop my son home from his school so i am not getting time to eat, so yesterday i was on my way back with "Lozeen" Crossan in my hand when i saw a policeman on the roadside so i hid it till i passed him, then the question came to my mind "why i am hiding? is it illegal?"

especially when I'm on route from one meeting to another meeting...and the drive is long enough for me to do so.

What's the problem with that?

By Molten Metal• 14 Oct 2012 21:48
Molten Metal

Your point is valid , if one gets hungry while driving .. it is OK to eat also ..

It is illegal to eat and drive in my home country as it is a distraction (like using your phone).

I have no idea what the law is here. The next best question is - even if it were illegal, it it enforced equitably?

is just so so sloppy and chaotic. My kiddo has to be near starving point to get the ok from her dad to eat in the car, and even then he'll be whining all the way through!

very true...

better to eat before you go out driving, or stop and eat in car parking of drive through if you dont want to get out of the car....

I even hate letting the kids eat in the car, yuckkyyy

but sometimes can not be avoided for them.

for hygienic reasons I find eating while driving quite gross! And yeah it is a distraction and any distractions whilst driving can mean a potential disaster waiting to happen. Better eat before your journey or pull over for when snacking on the go!

Excuse me .. it is still not very clear what actually do you want to know as you mentioned the word 'Eating' ?

Be specific please. Is it about eating 'food' [ ? ] while driving ..

The hardest part is to ensure that food doesn't fall on your lap or dirty the car. Therefore, i always take great care ..

we already said no

there is no law or punishment

just be responsible and try to not eat and drive. you dont need the added distraction, especially when you have to be on alert for the other drivers who drive bad and make us good drivers crazy!!

By poymaasin• 14 Oct 2012 17:33

and the answer? im waiting -_- is it punishable eating while driving? and how about drive through like mcdonalds hardees kfc or any fast foods? confused :-/

I am not sure if one can hold the steering with their teeth while the [eatable] item is their hands and then when the item is in their mouths .. hands could be used for holding the steering straight ..

But I am not supporting them while I am saying this ..

By mimiloves2sing• 14 Oct 2012 17:30
mimiloves2sing

idk about all ladies driving them...i see more guys then gals. and alot are very young under 18!!! that scares me alone.

but me, I would not dare drive that stupid, I am about safety first for me and the other drivers. I guess I am one of the rare respectful drivers...

but having a SUV is safer for me especially here with those who drive very bad and carelessly.

By Molten Metal• 14 Oct 2012 17:24
Molten Metal

'Those' with SUVs are responsible for others too , I mean they are often over burdened with the expatriates' welfare on their mind etc who are under their sponsership , you know ..

So that is one of the possible reasons , but we need to remember it is for 'us' not for 'themselves' .. I believe.

LONDON: Eyes on the road! Ogling drivers cause nearly one million road accidents in Britain every year since they are too busy staring at attractive pedestrians, a new research has found.

The study found that distracted motorists cause an average of 2,525 crashes every day as they lust through their windows, the equivalent of 921,840 per year.

Drivers crash their cars into lampposts or shunt other vehicles more in the summer when men and women are wearing less clothing, the 'Daily Mail' reported.

A study of 2,142 drivers found 60% of men admitted being distracted by attractive women while 12% of female drivers said they took their eyes off the road to leer at handsome men. TOI16Aug12.
