By Beast666

Saw 3 movies (DVD's) last weekend

1) Good Company = Average (scarlet johansson is soooooo HOT, amazing 60's look)

2) Taxi = Below Average (Not funny at all)

3) Weather Man = Below Average (What was it about...no idea..strong contender for worst movie of the year..).

Stay tuned for another DVD review after the weekend.....

I keep hearing complaints from people about QA, it seems like a knightmare if you have to fly back home in the summer, they would just cancel your ticket (even if it's paid for) and they would cancel your flight just because you didn't call them to confirm before the flight.

I also have experienced some delays, not really bad though, i've seen worse.

Has anyone ever tried the late TWA??? these were by all means The Worst Airlines

DG I have nothing to prove...

I would rather be a dolphin trainer...and live in BIGMAC island

Profiles don't mean anything! Super is not a Dolphin Trainer, Qatarcat doesn't come from the Heard and MacDonald Islands and I do not like stuff. You could have been lying :P

Thank you everyone, good to know, I wasn't sure but I thought it was something to do with either marriage or a journey.

Not a pilot Beast, but you do know how to spell it, which is more than I can do. ;D But you do work for Qatar Airlines? In office or on a plane?

I'll be sure to inform the pilot who told me the story.

It's a holy dot or bindi, believed to protect women and their husbands. Traditionally a symbol of marriage. It's Hindu.

the same reason some indian women pierce their noses i guess?

i think its a hindu tradition? cant be sure though..

If some stupid guy decides to bring snake in flight, he should be jailed in my opinion.... Landing gear is not that hot, only brakes are...

my strangest observation ever: why is doha airport always filled with asians singing kumbayah's on the floor?

i've noticed that at least half a dozen times and am still finding puzzling everytime they're there!

OOOO, I just put my thinking cap on and realized that Beast is a piolet!!!

By e46M3• 25 Jul 2006 21:47

Qatar Airways flying to Milan had a case of a snake on board that wound up in the business class overhead luggage bins. Declared emergency, path cleared for immediate descent, landed. Italian police handcuffed owner of said snake to landing gear, which according to the first officer on that flight, is "hotter than hell" after landing.

Trust me when i say this, end of the runway is not a issue at all....

By dohagirl• 25 Jul 2006 21:43
dohagirl

LOL e46, I was on an Air Canada flight that landed at St. John's Intl. during a snowstorm. The piolet kept talking about deicing the wings, but I could hear the stewardesses talking about how they were afraid to take off cause the storm was so bad we wouldn't be able to see the end of the runway. Imagine my shock when we took off. ;D

Flying back from Hong Kong via Manama in 1997 we got stuck at Bahrain Airport for a couple of hours while the announcements went out on the tannoy "Would the crew of flight GF XYZ proceed immediately to the aircraft." !!!

Seriously though, sitting in the Doha Airport for 2 hours waiting for your flight while the attendent keeps paging on Al Thani over and over again, is really irritating.

Yes they were both Phillipino. Believe me Beast things have to be pretty bad before I will complain, I'm Canadian , we don't know how. There is a reason Air Canada is still in existence.

none taken, e46

calling sudan airways scary is a scandalous understatement! terrorizing would be the right word!

once on one of its' flights the flight crew had to battle just to hold the airplane's door shut until it landed at Khartoum international airport!

Beast, this was my 40th flight on my 7th airline in 2 and a half years, I know that, and it was 40 minutes before takeoff, she just didn't want to argue with a Qatari, normally I wouldn't make a fuss about a window seat, but, I had been awake for 22 hours and wanted to curl up in my window seat and sleep.

By Beast666• 25 Jul 2006 21:27
Beast666

DG Do you know that all pax are required to be in there specified seats during takeoff?

Be a little specific please.

Would you believe me that delays in qatar airways are less then Emirates Airline and Eithad Airways ?

Booking wise, be specific

I flew Ariana twice, old Boeing 727s. Not too bad. One of them, maybe both, crashed at a later point in time.

I think the worst I've flown were Egypt Air and Sudan Airways. No offense, mocha!

Yes Mocha! waiting 2 hours for an Al Thani to show up for my flight too London, not to mention the 2 and a half hours I had to wait for my flight BACK from London. The stewards are rude, if they don't outright ignore you. And once I had to sit next to a guy who rubbed himself (in that area) the whole time while LOOKING at me, on an empty flight, and the stewardess wouldn't let me move! The last time some Qatari guy took my window seat and the stewardess told me to sit down and wouldn't help me get it back. Actually I lie it is the worst airline I have ever been on, customer service wise.

By mochafrap• 25 Jul 2006 21:20

i would have to agree with DG. Qatar Airways is one of the worst air carriers i've had the misfortune of flying with.

their flights are almost always late, they mess up bookings most of the time, and the concept of "the customer is always right" seems to be of absolutely no significance to its customer service representatives.

but i'm just speaking from personal experience.

Qatar Airways is the second WORST airline I have ever flown on (after Air Canada). Besides the movies in the seat it was crappy as always.

DG = How was your recent experience of Qatar Airways.

Underworld 2 wasn't bad. Brokeback Mountain was good. King Kong was meh. I can't remember what else Qatar Airways was showing.
