Dubai Warns Against Frisky Beach Action ! :)
Lifeguards on Dubai's beaches have spoken out about the warnings they issue daily to amorous tourists.
The beach guards have said that their jobs doesn't just involve saving lives, but keeping a lookout for tourists and visitors who are getting too friendly on the emirate's sands.
One lifeguard at the Open Beach said: “Many tourists unaware of local laws engage in some serious cuddling and kissing on the beach and we have been on constant lookout, and of course warning them."
Another lifeguard added that if their stern warnings are ignored, they will be reported to the police.
“Cops are informed only if the tourists ignore our warnings and continue to hug and kiss. Very rarely have we gone down that path because most tourists listen to us when we tell them of the consequences. They are here on a holiday and all they want is to enjoy their stay and return," he said.
Beaches and public spaces display signboards which warn tourists against inappropriate behavior.
Despite awareness campaigns and some arrests of those flouting the local laws, lifeguards say many tourists are still not aware of the rules before they travel.
