dubai entry visa
we are planning to go to dubai by air and are a bit confused about the procedures and pre requisites of on arrival visa which is issued at the airport. there have been a number of conflicting news. some say a minimum of one year stay in qatar(residence visa should be atleast a year old and valid for another three months) some say six months is more than enough.we are on a pakistani passport and my husband is a senior business analyst in QP. we have tried qatar airways office and emirates offices. two different emirates offices say two different things. All websites give different information.
i just want to know whether we are eligible for on arrival visa or not.we have been here for 10 months.
emirates is willing to arrange the visa here for a fee of 400 riyals per passport which will amount to 2000 riyals for us where as on arrival visa will be for just a max of 500.if anyone has had any personal experience, do tell.
yes it does get rather expensive but we have to pay a price to belong to a third world country. had we been citizens of the mighty USA or UK we wouldnt pay a dirham for it!talk about bias right left and center!
it is one month, until a year back, becasue i have usually stayed for transit and have always moaned and cried about spending 100dhm for each member of the family, just to get out of the airport for half a day.

i did try them. that lady wasnt very sure and gave me the number of dubai immiration at the airport. my sister called yesterday and got most of the info except the duration.

what is the duration of the visa issued. some say 14 days other claim it is a month?
You may want to check with the local embassy here in Doha if you still feel insecure. Your hubby should also consider taking a company letter...stating his position, that the employment is permanent, that he is proceeding on vacation and will resume his duties upon return and finally, his monthly salary.
A letter like this is a big help.

if i remember correctly, my hubby had a similar designation the first time we used the airport visa.
they want to see the id and the place of work too, like company id.
i still feel it shouldnt be a problem, but i will check with my hubby and get back to you.

well han my husbands designation is "systems analyst" and he holds an engineering degree. some say immigration officials adhere to the words doctors managers etc!!!what do u think?
every individual has to fill out his/her own form at the airport, including kids.
each visa is approx 100dhms.
you pay at the ebank (it used to be next to marhaba counter), they give you a smart card, fill up the forms and go to the visa counters.
10 months in doha shouldnt be a problem, you must be having your rp now. i think the stipulation is 6 months.
you shouldnt have a problem getting visa too, they check the profession on the ID. professionals have no problem getting airport visas, like engineers, managers, doctors etc.
in my opinion airlines will try to get the visa for you because they gotto make money girl.
anyway this has been my experience, i have always travelled with family alhamdullilah and taken visa on arrival, but i also have my hubby's family in UAE and my relatives too.alhamdullilah. dont know if they have changed any rule.

They just check whether you have RP stamp on your Passport and the title (post) on your(your husband's) ID card. Also they check were you are going to stay in UAE. That you have mention on the form. One form is enough for one family. Before that you have to buy 100 dh card per person. Then Fill up the form and go to immigration counter.
