Pepsi has seem to have admitted that the oils used in making Pepsi do contain trace amounts of alcohol. However, Coca Cola seems to refuse to give a direct answer as to weather their natural products do contain trace amounts of alcohol, and in turn claims that their products contain "no added alcohol" as required by the law.

These kind of baseless report has a malicious agenda, they want people to stop drinking popular fizzy drinks and want people to drink their version branded products . Another research should be whether people get high or not, and the answer is no.If that is the case, then should they cull all the lizards, there are some desperate people who sniff burnt lizard tails to get a high, and some people sniff xerox toners too.....

You are putting poison like Coke and Pepsi into your body and are concerned about the traces of alcohol it may contain? You are joking, right?

And btw, IF one is addicted to this crap, it is the massive amount of refined sugar and chemicals that gets one addicted.FYI.

As long as you let the alcohol get to your stomach and not to your head, you'll be fine.

... and if you have a real sweet (sugar) orange juice, it will work even better, because the bacteria use the sugar as energy source.

By anonymous• 27 Jun 2012 19:52

brit, it's not me who put the bacteria in the fruit. They are there if you like it or not, and they do their job of fermenting.

hankyou. the key here is "expected levels" and the definition of an alocoholic beverage.

let's not make a Michelob out of a Moussy :O)

... because non-alcoholic beer also has alcohol, but it is at accepted levels.

Natural (!) juice ferments through contact with oxygen. It is well-known that such (fresh) orange juice has about 0.5% alcohol. This happens with almost all fruits more or less. A report published by Indiana University says, a standard glass of orange juice contains between .2% and .5% alcohol. Six glasses of orange juice could theoretically create the same culpability in a minor as six bottles of non-alcoholic beer.

The alcohol group of molecules are present in many, many things. But it I would expect people on here to know the difference between ethanol, butanol or even octanol...... Just need to know did God ban all of the chemicals or just one?
