I am a strict vegetarian. Was trying to find out a balanced diet plan for self. The diet plan should also help in weight reduction. Can anyone help please? Thanks.

both my sons think the same way as you do...one of them dated a very thin girl once...(I kept telling him she was bulimic, and she was!!) and he always said he worried about breaking her when he hugged her...

if you go for a fat free wife, there's not much to snuggle up to on a cold night..I recommend a "light" version...and go for the fat free sour cream.

just about anything, if eaten in large quantities can add weight...

Fruits can make you gain weight, because of the natural sugars in them...but you'd have to eat one heck of a lot of spinach to gain weight...lol

The part that I said bread and rice can make you gain is because its not taken in quantites as it should be..most people over eat of them. Not just in serving size, but in quantities during the day. Most folks eat white bread or white rice...both are not as nutritionally sound as brown bread or rice. And I'm not talking about  brown bread that is colored by molasses..I'm talking the whole grain brown breads...

I've worked as one before but with the very different diets here in the Middle East, I hesitate to do so here.

I'd start at Al Ahli and ask then if they know anyone..at least they might be able to point you in the correct direction.

Brown rice is much better for you than white as the white has had the bran part taken off, virtually stripping it of nutritional value. Still the caloric count ramains about the same..nutritionwise, however, brown beats the white, hands down...as you get fiber and vitamins from it.

if sugar reduction causes depression, then you are most likely addicted to it my friend...cut it out entirely...You will go through a depressive state, but will come back normal..replace the sugar with fruits and allow the natural sugars in them to settle your blood sugar. Caffeine can do the same to people...when you cut it out, you can end up with depression, headaches and tiredness. I know I do when I cut out the caffeine and sugar...I usually take some Tylenol until the headache passes, which is usually within a day...and you'll find you feel much better with all that out of your system.

The best move you can do is talk to a licensed nutritionist because they can help you with a balanced diet that will include enough protein from non animal sources, and the correct balance between fats, proteins, carbs and veggies. You CAN lose weight but a vegetarian diet makes it a bit more difficult..so get professional help. Good luck!!

vegetarians gain weight very quickly as a matter of fact, because a lot of them cook with more fats and oils to add flavor to the vegetables. Plus, the addition of potatoes and breads add to the caloric value...can be a very bad combination.

I think to continue in a exercise schedule daily one should really be self motivated. Secondly reducing sugar intake causes depression in me. Sugar provides that 'high'. I think losing weight is not easy, specially for me.
