If you go to Grand Hamad Street, opposite to Al Fardan Building there is Gulf Exchange (my personal favourite).There is Al Fardan Exchange in the Al Fardan building itself next to the Ferrari showroom.
Try your bank fella, HSBC (granted people I know are having nightmares with them) but they did a good job for converting euros for me.

Failing that, there is a money exchange just off the C ring, head from ramada juntion towards the airport, at the traffic signals (the one after the muntazah signals) turn left and the exchange is just after the marine/boat shop on your right.
