corolla vs mazda 3 - help from owners/car people

Withnail
By Withnail

i am going to buy a car, probably a corolla or mazda 3 if i end up getting a new car.

i am being told that toyotas hold their value very well, but what about mazdas? in canada there would be a good resale value but i'm not sure here.

aside from the smaller engine in the mazda, i prefer everything about it. but, if we move in 2-3 years i'm wondering what the difference in resale would be.

any advice? anyone out there who considered these 2 and went with one over the other? why?

thanks for the tips.

And regd ur panga...pls carry on...i m sure he already has his hands full handling pangas...but u can surely be invited and handled...for sure...and

speaking of bored...o yes ofcourse today being a sunday noone from home online holiday for them...so quite bored understandable...

But then imagine urself working in a top order office which maintains pin-drop silence...(like how teachers put it at school for students)...i work there in such an environment...so its even tougher for me to handle...so thats why today after a long time...i m trying to be active on the forum...do u work to keep urself occupied by the way...

It will give you everything you want to know - used/brand new review/specs on both the Mazda 3 and the Corolla for the middle east market only.

Other than it being a bit underpowered, i luv the Mazda 3 - it handles better and most importantly it looks much better.

You won't get respect from "Mr.Tailgating Landcruiser" in both though :-)

My car is a White honda Civic and i have named him 'Don Whito Corleone'. Sorry, i DID mean to hijack the thread, but then decided against it.

IMHO, if you dont have anything against Honda, go for a civic. Looks, power and decent resale value. Never had the hots for Mazda, unfortunately...

Carbon gery is the most popular. heat doesn't matter. A/C system is perfect. The difference between 2006 & 2007 is:

1. Much improved suspension system.

2. Different type of Alloy wheels.

3. speedo meter is white compared to 2006 orange.

4. gear nob has a silver strip.

ksarat - I didn't work for Asian games. but I know you and your car. but 30000km for 9 months old car (at that time) too much isn't it. sure you have to run here and there during Asian games. Zoom Zoom Happy driving Mazda 3

Metallic Orange is a dashing color u must be catching all the eyes on the roads whenever ur car is cleaned and looking new i gues....dont u...

Well mine is Carbon Grey, and is also Chong's as per what he just told me...

So Gal...do u drive around a lot...touch wood to ur car that it doesnt get any probs...

And boris dude...now 2007 Model is a better featured one i guess...it looks great...but to be a little frank the 2006 model which has the Alloys it looks better than the 2007 alloys...dont know about car personally though...will see it when i get a moment...

And yes most of the life we dont live for ourselves...atleast when given a chance choosing the car of our personal choice can give u a little satisfaction...its not always about the money money money its also about urself...what do u want deep down below...

so good one Boris...Gypsy Gal, and Eng...and u also Withnail...go for it...its a good car...

carbon grey seems popular - dealer said it was new. that's the one i was thinking about as their dark blue isn't so nice.

does it heat up like black in this heat? i guess with the sun here there isn't much difference.

how's the A/C unit?

Well sir,

The engine here is 1.6 Lt...

The car is more heavier than that of a Toyota so handling is quite better...and more over there are too many Corollas on the road...there is nothing special...but a Mazda 3 sport Full option is what i drive is quite good-looking as well...it looks good from Inside as well as Outside...

the engine of the Mazda 2.0 is the Mazda 6 is what u r talking abt...Mazda 3 is 1.6 Lt and it drives quite fast i can tell u...

the pick up is good, the action of the car is good, balance is perfect, and it is quite smooth as well...the Stereo system that comes with the Mazda is fabulous...

But hey again, Resale...Toyota Unbeatable...Mazda picking up...

Cheers...

By Withnail• 15 Jul 2007 12:09
Withnail

how's the engine? in canada the base is the 2.0.

how's the power? the rating on the 1.6 is pretty low, but figures don't always give the whole story.

i hear the build quality is good, and it handles better than the toyota.

my heart is saying mazda - i guess if more and more are on the roads then that should help resale too.

cheers mate.

Hey buddy...

I own a Mazda 3 ... my parents told me a lot before buying a car abt Corolla...but i still went for a Mazda...basically...there is nothing that beats a Toyota here in Qatar...the resale...service u name it...so if u r looking at a resale point of view....Toyota is the BEST...but if u want a car for urself and ur interest...then dont look at the resale...i shud tell ya...that earlier days Mazdas were not too favoured...but nowadays there are quite a few too many on the roads so the market for that as well has picked up and its a deadly car with good looks to drive...

So dude...ur choice in the end...Resale : Toyota Corolla Unbeatable...

Mazda 3 not too bad also...

Cheers...

Anything else let me know...
