Child access. Can you please help!!!

My husband is due to return to the UK in Septmeber to appear in court to fight for access for his two children, daughter 6 and son 5. Unfortunatley his ex-wife is totally against them traveling to Qatar to spend time with him. Her main reasons are:-
Travel time from the UK:- They are too young for sunch a long journey with their paternal grandmother - NOT alone.
Climate:- It is too hot in April and October.
His daughter's hair is strawberry blonde:- Again climate concern with sun burn.

Can anyone please add their comments on how they have found moving to Qatar with a young family as we do not see these reason as valid, especailly as we see so many young families here in Qatar with many children even having Strawberry blond or ginger hair and fair skin.

Your help would be much appreciated as I'm sure many of you agree that no child should be deprived of seeing their father. Also we feel that visiting this country will broaden their horizons and life experiences.

i have lived here for 21 years i moved over here with my family when i was 3 years old. I have blonde hair and blue eyes. this is where i call home and wouldnt change it for anything in the world. I have lived the best years of my life here and wish you could let your kids come and give them the chance to experience what i had growing up as a child.

Qatar is a family orientated place which is much safer than the UK by far. There are lots of fun and safe activities for kids to do here and if your worried about sunburn we have suncream. in October the weather is the perfects time for family picknicks and trips to the beach if anything the kids will love it. Don't deprive them of seeing their dad and seeing a part of the world they could fall in love with.

I feel for you. All the reasoning in the world won't settle her mind. This isn't about Qatar, bigger problems here.

However, I'll give you the outlook on the children senerio. We have a 5 and 3 year old. All is good, is it hot, sure but whats the problem. everything is A/C, and there is this new invention called sunscreen, ask her if she has heard of it. The children will probably be more cold in Qatar than London, due to the A/C blasting.

They'll love the airplane. Try coming from Canada, from London its a cake walk.

acutally, the more I think about it, the more she is pissing me off. why doesn't she just say the truth. Shes bitter, immature and jolted.

Anything outside that is hot air and a waste of time to address. Tell your concerned about the dampness of London and the mold that may be forming unbeknowen to her. Your concerned about the subway bombing and the risk of an attack on innocent bystanders.

Let her know your moving to Brazil and see what stupid excuses she'll come up with then.

theres no argument here!We moved over with our 18 month old daughter in May and she loves it here!and she's blonde!she's mixing with different cultures and we are sensible about her going out in the heat!(common sense!) She flew from UK at that age although it was a nightmare she is technically well travelled and she has blossomed since moving here from grey grim UK! go for it, compared to the UK this lifestyle for children is fantastic! thats the reason we moved here, for a better life for her!

Good luck!

For visiting it's ok for them, although being here in the summer must be a nightmare for children, they can't do much outside activities. But in the other monthes it would be perfect for them, there are so many children activities, they would love it. And it wouldn't do any bad to them, they would get some cultural influence.
