Chat room

ngourlay
By ngourlay

There was a thread a few days ago about chat. I've put up something very rough and ready here. If people like it, I'll try to convince Qatari to host it on QL. If everyone hates it, well, that's OK too.

I just checked it out and liked the idea. I guess this is at experimental stage and will be developed later. Quite crude at this stage but I definately liked the feel -  warmth and closeness I associate with chat rooms. Good work by Ngourlay.

Alexa there is an thin answering box at the bottom of the page....its easy to miss

The page looks as if you opened a file in notepad.

Of course we boys get the option of switching the page colour from white to strawberry colour. I even have the Polka Dotted option.

It's working for me. I think it's a good idea. It may stop people arguing over things in the comments on threads on QL!

But it would need some improvements ,like being able to create new chat rooms etc, so everyone isn't talking in the same room at once.

It's a web gateway onto IRC, so the IPs are disguised. Everyone appears to be from the IP address of the webserver, so the other users can't tack you back to your office. It's as anonymous as Qatar Living

If you use a stand-alone IRC client, then your IP address will be visible.
