Economy doesn't run by a person or community...... ...

it need powerful and strong public support to bring back the economy into normalcy from the slowdown/recession.

General masses have to show their continuous confidence in the Financial sector of the country and STOP rumors about the crisis issues.

People need to check what individual measures shall be adopted to contritbute to support the cause.

Such extravaganza event will definitely required at this point of time to show the solidarity among UAE and GCC region

I don't mean funny as in disrespectful, just...funny...Because of the view Dubai gives to the world as the rich hub, when really all their money comes from Abu Dhabi. It seems like now they finally have to admit it. :)

and to the Region as well....no doubt spent a huge amount to SHOW their presence on the Global Map.....the opening ceremony was covered by all over the world's media. The new name is 'BURJ KHALIFA' as a token for supporting Dubai with US$ 10B in such time of debt crisis.

I am with Jack....all its neighbours will take another 25 years to reach close to Dubai.

If u will look into their consturction aspect, u will come to know how much steel, glasses and what not have been used in making that giant tower??? I don't think its a wise move..We all know abt dubai's condition, whoz gonna to stay there??? I think it will be u, BIG BRO.....

Dubai created itself into a Tourist destination...thats not easy for any country....big or small....especially in a desert.....

If anybody wants to Tour the GCC....Dubai as a choice stands head neck and shoulders above others....just because of these man-made structures & facilities....

Its neighbors will take another 25 yrs to overtake Dubai!

But Dubai has to offer short-term (3days to 1 week) visa on arrival to everybody....for maximum tourism-related-business to take place.

In UAE they announced a 1400 Meter building after starting this one, Saudi announced a 2800 Meter building, wonder how long will this stay as the tallest building.

The building itself is really freaking tall, I went up to 100th floor a couple of years back and there was still so much of it left. Got a pain in my neck from looking up.
