Spare a thought and a prayer for Vittorio Arrigoni who was murdered in Gaza..

Arrigoni was part of the International Solidarity Movement (ISM) and was there to help the Palestinians..

Yes the article echoes what I said "His abductors said he would be released in return for Sheikh Hisham Su'idani, leader of the extremist Salafist Tawhid wal Jihad.."

Notice the term used is "Salafist" not "Salafi"

I don't want to side track this. I was just going by the reports.

I would ask you to see the attached article. I would also suggest that perhaps you are being too simplistic. You are expecting others to be the same as you. This cannot always be so

A person can be a Muslim and an extremist...A person can be a Muslim and not a Salafi. We cannot make takfeer as to who is Muslim and who is not but a Salafi is different. Not all Muslims will follow the Prophet in both creed and actions. A Salafi is one who does. I know what you mean bdw, and I'm not arguing with you here too but it truly upsets me when a person even remotely connects such atrocities to Salfiya even for the lack of a better term.

I will not argue with you. I was just going by news reports. Using your logic, there are no extremist Muslims. You are either a Muslim or an extremist..

Lets just agree that he was killed by a group from within those he was trying to help..

What a shame. And what a blow this is to a legitimate cause. Pro-Israel groups are going to run this for ages.

There are no "Extremist Salafis" in actuality. A Salafi is one who is upon the Path of the Prophet, his companions and the pious predecessors. Hence a person is either a "Salafi" or an "extremist" I believe the word you are looking for is "Salafist" this is a term used to describe an extremist who wrongly believes his beliefs and methods are in accordance to the Quran and Sunnah.

Its all very sketchy, but rumours are that it was an extremist Salafi group.

People are blinded by hate, anger and vengeance so much so that they can no longer differentiate between friends and foes. This was pure oppression..Vittorio Arrigoni didn't deserve this! How can a people expect success and peace to come to them when they commit such accursed acts themselves?
