BRAIN DAMAGING HABITS
BRAIN DAMAGING HABITS
1. No Breakfast
People who do not take breakfast are going to have a lower blood sugar level.
This leads to an insufficient supply of nutrients to the brain causing brain degeneration.
2. Overeating
It causes hardening of the brain arteries, leading to a decrease in mental power.
3. Smoking
It causes multiple brain shrinkage and may lead to Alzheimer disease.
4. High Sugar consumption
Too much sugar will interrupt the absorption of proteins and nutrients causing
malnutrition and may interfere with brain development.
5. Air Pollution
The brain is the largest oxygen consumer in our body. Inhaling polluted air
decreases the supply of oxygen to the brain, bringing about a decrease in brain
efficiency.
6. Sleep Deprivation
Sleep allows our brain to rest. Long term deprivation from sleep will accelerate the
death of brain cells.
7. Head covered while sleeping
Sleeping with the head covered, increases the concentration of carbon dioxide and
decrease concentration of oxygen that may lead to brain damaging effects.
8. Working your brain during illness
Working hard or studying with sickness may lead to a decrease in effectiveness of
the brain as well as damage the brain.
9. Lacking in stimulating thoughts
Thinking is the best way to train our brain, lacking in brain stimulation thoughts may
cause brain shrinkage.
10. Talking Rarely
Intellectual conversations will promote the efficiency of the brain.

Cornellian thank you. Someone once told me that brain (or brain cells) is made of fat/cholestrol. I am not sure how true this information is.
The title of the post says "Brain Damaging Habits." Which could mean having these habits may in the long run attribute to Brain damage directly or indirectly.
LOL ngourlay, ur right. But stuff like excessive smoking or overeating the wrong foods can damage the brain.

Mom_me overeating does effect brain arteries. Too much cholesterol, for example, can cling onto the artery walls either hardening them or causing a blockage, this can lead to a stroke or heart attack depending where the artery is located. Too much salt, would increase blood pressure, which could also cause a stroke.

It's the sort of thing that gets sent round facebook. Brain damage is caused by lack of oxygen (stroke, heart attack, etc.), trauma, disease or birth defect. Not by failing to have your breakfast. I'm just surprised it didn't end with:
"If you don't want to have brain damage, forward this message to five of your friends."
I don't think it can be classifieds as rubbish because I have personally met Alzeimer's patints and one of the treatment/threapy involves stimulating thought process and conversations for those whose speech part is affected. Not sure how would overeating involve hardening of brain artery (heart is understandable). So whatever the source of your info Ajnas, do let me know.
Oh and overeating not only hardens arteries but can also cause blockage which would lead to a stroke.

Alcoholism has been proved to shrink brain sizes. I've seen MRI scans of an alcoholic compared to a normal person and it definitely did shrink.

How come 'sitting around reading posts like this on Qatarliving.com' isn't on the list?
do you make this stuff up, or is there a site that specializes in medical apocrypha?
I would add dehydration to this list, a 1% drop in water in the body leads to a 10% drop in mental ability. Coffee and Alchol dehydrate you as well. So drink more water people.
Point no. 7 : Do you mean head or face ? Thank you for the info.
