Okay... stick to topic, I done few blind dates before, some worked out so well.. and become bf/gf some are nitemare but all good experiences.

just prepare yourself with alternative way how to get out from the date if you think the date is not work out. Ask your friend to call you at certain time and said is from your parent and they looking for you or you friend is in emergency room, you have to go. you just need to be improvise and save the hassle puzzles.

and try to find out ealier what your blind date like and dislike, hobby,ect. before the date day. cheers..

i have done it once when I was in college and it was a good experience and did it twice here. the second date ended up to be my husband.It works for me. But never go to a stranger. Let or ask a friend to give you a date, for sure she/he wont give you somebody else for a date.And dating means getting to know each other in a nice restaurant, bar  or a coffe shop.

The whole time that i've been living in middle east. I've been to Saudia Arabia for Omra in 2001, been to bahrain, lived in UAE for 3 years...  Let me make it clear andexplain what I meant by blind dating. I meant when your friend introduce you to someone and arrange for you to meet without previous knowledge about eachother. It doesnt mean to pick up someone online (I am totally against that it's far way too risky).

hey, next time get yourself to a place where u r comfy, with ppl around. dont go walking alone with him anywhere...especially dark places. there are plenty of hangouts like that. make it semi-blind. dont budge out with a complete stranger unless your heart tells you so.
