BICYCLE ON DOHA CORNICHE

Hi! A pleasant day to all QLers:-)

We've been to Corniche lately and i've noticed one thing:
lots of people are playing bicycle and worse doing trics and dangerous exhibition!

My concern to all people going to corniche for their safety! Correct me if im wrong that bicycle is not allowed in corniche area where people used to walk, stroll, jog, other activities to relax!

There are also kids enjoying corniche and was afraid whenever these people on high speed bicycle perform dangerous acts! Would the police arrest them for disobeying the rules?

This is just a wake-up call to whom it may concern!

Peace be with you all!

..if it's constructive but here it sounds like a curse; God beware us of a tragedy!

Anyway, I've seen in Aspire Zone a marked band for jogging around the stadium, also a special playground for kids, very clean with toilet nearby. So, as zakalwe said, it can be arranged a place for "extreme" performances in this Sports-Land, isn't it? My opinion...

shame they can't do their 'trics and dangerous exhibition' over the Corniche wall and into the bloody sea! That'll stop the buggers!

Really, the weather and Ramadan kept our children between the walls;my downstairs neighbor killed me this summer holiday with complaints that my kid is running here-there in the apartment:-( We enjoyed all the playing -grounds from malls...The good season for outside sports/walking/consuming energy is starting, so, where to ride the bikes? Kids need to play somehow...Once I went to Zoo taking the scooter for my little girl and the security guy asked me to let it in the car. What about rollers/scooters, they are also annoying people walking on Corniche, or Al Duhail Park, or Al Rumailah Park, it's true, but again, where to go??? Advice pls...

not done it yet but just bought bike and fancied a nice ride...i get yr concerns but if doha is going to stand a chance at getting cycle lanes and encourage alternatives to the 5l gas gusslers so popular here, along with the concomittent losing of big bellys and high collesterhol etc a constructive apporach is going to be needed...who is doing this riding? kids on bmxs or adults who should knwo better? kids needs skate parks and tubes for extreme riding and they dont cost much.

please dont run me off the road when you see me...

Nothing is more relaxing than flying like an Eagle in Heaven !!

it is a debate! it is not fair as well for some1 who want to enjoy a ride at night to go on the highway with cars! this is dangerous in Qatar...worst drivers ever!

bicycles are not allowed in corniche bay area, a clear sign board is there both english & arabic. but still many other families with their kids bring bicycles & play on that area which is very dangerous. it is for this reason that i dont bring my children there anymore. its high time that concerned authorities must do something about this to avoid an accident to happen

I would also like to add that a while ago my son almost got hit by one of those speeding bikes. Although I encourage these young boys sporting, I would appreciate their finding another place.
