Behind of Qatar Traffic New Law

Enigma

Did you ever think or wonder, that behind of Qatar Government to force New Traffic Law? Now I've just realise that something behind of that. what it is? It's beyond that if you see the list of table fine for violation, it's most of unbelievable, why? I believe government now try to reduce of ex-partriate out of coutry,(I remeber the last survey in Qatar resident ex-pat 90% from total resident). that to whom that received less salary in qatar, will think over it. you can imagine, that people who received salary per month QAR,1000/- must paid trafic fine QAR,3,000 or 6,000??. You dont ask for qataris the amount of fine is nothing. this qatar its only for people who can paid the fine of course by they salary. so there no place for people that received less salary. Now if someone wants to come & work in qatar just see in the new table list traffic violation. if you can pay the fine... Welcome to Qatar.

I guess Enigma has a point...

Cause thats usually their method of solving "traffic problems".

1st it was Unemployed Ladies & Labourers who were debared from obtaining the driving licence.

And now this to keep away the low-income (usually Asians & Kenyans) from the road. Even one accident or fine can keep them off the road for aleast 3-6mths.

But since they do not have any other option (bus was never an option- only people who "reside-&-Work" near the bus-stops use it) they are back on the streets with their car again.

To fine a person in such a way so as to keep him off-road is the 1st that I m hearing of!! Maybe if there was a Metro then the plan would have succeded.

will be the richest in the world if people keep on paying 50k for crossing a red light. I recently donated 9K to the traffic department as a good will gesture.

LOL, I would like to see your friends face and body language, before and after he pays his fine. Hopefully, he just learned a new lesson of driving in Doha.

...My friend approached the traffic light and quietly stopped behind the last car... Suddenly he sees a policeman, who is knocking his window. Being absolutely confident, he low down the window.. policeman says: “traffic violation!” “WHY?? FOR WHAT??”- my friend got surprised.. the answer was: “for.... not keeping a distance of 2 metres from the car in front of you..”!!!

...so my friend said: ok, give me a ticket.. and he got one....

YOU KNOW HOW MUCH A FINE WAS??? ...QR 3000!...sucks, man...

Well, if 90% are expats, than you can argue that 90% of the drivers on the roads are also expats so its not all locals that are bad drivers. If you obey the rules you wont have a problem and the traffic will improve.

If you drive carefully and do not break the law - you will get no fines - easy. I believe the traffic madness has improved since the new laws were introduced.
