Beggers in my Office?
Has anyone else had the problem of beggers coming into their office looking for money? In the last couple of weeks we've had 3 or 4 women, dressed in abayas, who only speal Arabic, carrying pictures of sick children, mothers, fathers, etc.
These women will just not go away, even once they realize that no one in the office speaks Arabic, or, as in today's case, started yelling at our only Arabic speaker that they won't leave until they are given money. Today she wouldn't leave until she actually saw me dial 999 to call the police.
Does anyone else have this problem or know what to do about it?
After tonight, u can expect me in an abaya, at your office everyday hahahaha :P
So where do u work again?? hahahaha :P

Is it proper to date strangers on a blind date that you meet via On=line?

I got a car and no passenger for tonight.. Are you begging for someone to take you out tonight?
If you say yes, probably would have to consider it, but first let me ask my Guru Gypsy for a good old advice in dating strangers......

For UK beggars, tell the lazy bar-stewards to get a feckin job.
For Qatar beggars, if you don't speak Arabic, give them a backhander, show them the hairy side of your hand, a hoof in the chugs, a bunch of fives in the kisser, a knuckle sandwich in the fizzog.
That usually overcomes the language barrier

KH....Begging as a business happens in India too...."No business intruders are allowed....Now here is the very bad thing. In the early morning, they have gathering places to lanch their daily work after getting ready with their necessary tools."...so so TRUE!
I cant stop laughing at the word "begging tools"....ROFL...but its so true....and many people are easily fooled.
intriguing story...
from a simple scam to an organized crime, better be on watch now or be sorry.

I am talking about my Lebanese experience. Some of them are landlords. yet they are still in business. unfortunately, they are spoiling the credibility of the real needy people.
There are gangs on beggers and each one has an area allocated to. No business intruders are allowed.
Now here is the very bad thing. In the early morning, they have gathering places to lanch their daily work after getting ready with their necessary tools. Parents who are involved in business bring their handicapped kids or those with birth deformities and rent them for the day. An auction takes place and the kid is rented to the winning bidder.

Everybody wants to go to heaven; but nobody wants to die.
This is harassment in the workplace. There is no way they should be wandering willy-nilly around offices. The best thing to do is not give them any money and call the police. Arabic speaker should tell them if they are seen again the police will be called to remove them.
It's hard not to give money when you are asked directly but what they are doing is illegal. There are official places they can go in Qatar for practical and financial help.

and mind you. they maintain a database of people and locations where money would be poured into their pockets and wallets. If you give them once, they will keep coming and will tell others to come.
Personally, I do not invest in them. When it comes to charity work, everyone knows where to spend the money.
Once I saw a clip about a female begger in Kuwait. Of course she is having the black abaya on. At the end of her working hours, she moves towards her car, take off the abaya (not stripping) and end up to be a man.

I'm not sure about the situation in the UK, but if it's anything like the one in Canada you actually have to TRY to be poor, and even then you aren't that poor. There are just too many social programs available to people, and the only way you are exempt from them is if you are a habitual drug user or alcoholic, and THEN there are programs available for that! People on welfare in Canada can afford to go out drinking and smoke a couple of $12 packs of cigarettes a day, and then buy their kids a playstation.

Salax... you missed the point a lot of them are professional beggars... ie they make GOOD money...
Its not about us refusing to give its about establishing how to give and who to.
Canary bird my daughter was only 6 months old and in a push chair.
I've heard all this palova before about the uk not taking care of its own.. blah blah blah.
Absolute bullocks in most areas of the uk help is easily accessed. Only London and more sought after areas suffer from a lack of accessibility and too much demand.
Maryum : Umm Hasan bint Abdullah Alshabrawishi
the real poor guys never ask like this ,, so just ignor those ***** and never give anything.
People are living on the street because they have no refuge nor a place to stay and are poor- the UK does not provid for its own but does provide for many foreigners so please don't mention that here. It does exist, and some beggars are poor and some not so poor.
To be honest if I had a daughter I would put shoes on her feet anyway when she goes out because of the cold and beacuse there might be glass or dangers on the street - you reasoning is beyond my imagination.
Zahra it's wrong to encourage these women to come into a place of business and harrass people who are working.

This happens alot with the bosnians who come to the uk. One time I was shopping and I didn't put any shoes on my little girl (just socks). And she approached me for money. showing me what a poor state her child clothes and blanket were. I lifted up the blanket and behold a beautiful pair of designer shoes were on the baby's feet.
I showed her my daughter without shoes. And said in Islam we should not beg for money. If you are in need then go to the local masjid and ask for something.
Their is no reason for anyone in the uk to be so broke they need to beg unless they are drug addicts or live in london. The goverment provides so much to these people and even single adults with no children are provided accom. or rental assistance and enough money for food and utilities.
It has come to the point that I am unsure which charity to give money to anymore. So many people are trying to cheat us out of our hard earned cash.
Maryum : Umm Hasan bint Abdullah Alshabrawishi
whats wrong if you give some of your riyals, just our share your blessings, God will give it back to you,,INSHAALLAH..
Hard to ignore them when they come into your workplace and walk around into everyone's offices like they work there.

if you keep giving to these beggars..they will always return and will never learn. and chances are their number will grow since they become dependent.
is there any action from the Qatar government?

Ok good to know what to do, I'll tell everyone in the office just to say Allah Kareem next time one of these ladies comes in.

People actually come here from Saudi to beg you are supposed to say ALLAH KAREM, it means God will take care of you. My friend gave a guy money one day in the parking lot of the City Center and then she saw him get in a brand new truck she felt like an idiot. The police tell you not to give them money. Also, be aware people are ringing door bells to see if someone is home so they know whether to rob it or not. My friend had her door bell ringing and when she finally answered it the guy said it was the KFC rest. making a delivery but the vehicle had no KFC markings on it. She should of got the license number and called the police they obviously were trying to see if anyone was home. They would also be wearing a KFC uniform.
Thankfully we have security outside :)
With the present high cost of living this has become very common

I told the beggar once that it is "haram" and leave or i will call the police... she left at once.
never happened in my office. but good to know. what i should do next time???
I DO WHAT I LIKE, I LIKE WHAT I DO
covering the entrance? If you do it begs the question what were they doing.
We used to get them at the villa in Qatar sometimes but just closed the gate on them.
It was a big problem in Abu Dhabi, they were men, apparently Yemeni and were very threatening until the other blokes in the office turned up. They were carrying an undated document proving that they had a relative in hospital thay they were collecting for. The document looked years old.
The police eventually caught them and they were deported.
"INSIDE OFFICE" beggers...lol..
but seriously.. i come across this matter once on the Corniche...about a month ago... some car was parked on the side. It were a man and a woman in the car. …the man asked me to stop and tried to explain me that they came from Dubai, and something happened and they have no money to go back... I said to them, I even didn't have a purse on me (i left it in my car)... but then I took a look at the plate, and it was Qatari plate.. so i thought my be i should call the police.. but car took off very fast and has disappeared...
Oh ok! I'm totally against beggary. I mean I totally discourage it.
