Babies Vaccination

Good morning everyone!

I am a mother of 6mos old baby. I went yesterday to the one of the clinic of Hamad Hospital which is Messaimer Branch. My baby is schedule for her 6mos vaccination, unfortunately what had happened when she was 4mos old was the same story yesterday. The clinic have a very bad system on how they gather/collects the cards of a baby. They clinic has 2 schedule one in the morning and one in the afternoon. They are opening at 4pm but you should come there as early as possible for you to get a number...because they are giving only 30s number for more than 50s to 60 plus babies. It was very sad to see all the babies waiting for so long outside the clinic and it was very hot and all the babies were not comfortable. There was 1 man whose collecting the cards outside then when the door opens it is automatically given to the responsible of distributing numbers according to the cards by sequence. But, yesterday it's not happened..instead the guy whose collecting the cards was the guy returned all the cards to the respective owner of the cards and the man said that there is no number anymore...so what happened was..all mothers and father messed up in-front of Doctor's room - the room where held the vaccination. There was a time that all of us wants to go inside that small room...and everyone was shouting and everyone wanted their cards to be recollected again....unfortunately the collecting of 30 cards stretch the time til 5pm...and not all cards was collected and I am one of them.

I left the room disappointed and questioning them in my own, why they are doing it again and again? Why they can't provide a proper system? where everybody can benefit on it especially the babies of different nationalities living in this place...and also the babies should be their priorities.

I know, I am not the only mother nor father who had experienced this kind of situation there...I believe every mother/father who went there yesterday was very disappointed about this kind of system that the clinic has.Actually, I want to take videos and photos so that I have a evidence to show up...but I was afraid. I will take next time for sure if it will be the same story and scene.

If I am in their position, I will suggest that they have to consider all the patients esp the babies to have their right in most important role of their life..to have vaccination on time and not to be in trouble.

Hope someone read my message here so that it can be send to the Hamad concern personnel for action.

I don't even know where to begin with this story......I was at the mesaimeer HC horrible attitude of the nurses and the security guard......they have absolutely no management at all ......all the babies and parents are left in a stampede situation with all the babies wailing.....and the parents screaming....total in eptituede of the nurses they have no first come first serve policy all they had to do is make the people stand in a Q outside and let only 30 babies in........and finish the process...it was tat simple....I wonder what the security was doing inside when he cud have handled the situation outside and made sure there was a Q system......I hope some one is listening in and make the changes....

We avoided all that hassle and went to Doha Clinic for all our vaccinations. It costs us QAR250 per vaccination but definitely no such problems. HMC is free though and our experiences with HMC (although have not been to the mesaimeer branch) have been good. Hope your concerns get addressed soon.

This is the 3rd I going to take vaccination and came back with disappointment. There is no systematic in any health center you can see all of them shouting and fighting back to staffs and they are helpless. They are just following the instruction.

that's true sweet4ever :)

the management of HM should be aware this kind of situation so that they will implement a new strategy/action/moves or anything that can make their services as good as what the patients are expecting from them.

Same situation in every health center- my baby and I registered at Gharafa health center- million of people waiting and I have left the place number of times disappointed ever since this new system has been implemented. We had vaccination 2 weeks ago- appointment- it was better- as now they only take parents with babies in who have vaccination and appointment for specific day- everybody else can come and register instead of coming before 4pm. For me it was also strange that health center's all doors closed till 4 pm- whereby even if doctors have lunch- at least patients can wait in reception . You should speak to doctor in charge - maybe it would help. And if parents don't speak about the situation- don't expect anything to change as system in Qatar is very slow.

It was not my 1st time rather my 2nd time around to be there. I was engaged to Omar Bin Khatab b4..their service is little bit better than this clinic. Hope they make an action for this kind of system/policy they have.

I heard these kind of complains from many of my friends about the Mesaimeer HC. they don't have proper system for vaccination unit. HMC heads must be considered in this regard.
