Anyone 'experienced love' in Al Ahli Hospital

heero_yuy2

Kinda remembered there were too many ads of that "love experience" brought to us by Al Ahli Hospital, from pink bus banners to road ads...

What was the ad for? Anyone of you did 'experience love' in Al Ahli Hospital? What was the 'love' they're promoting over there?

Putting aside whether Ahli does extend "love", the advert had me in stitches.

The whole teaser campaign "experience love" did it's job alright, that is - "ok, I wanna know more"......Eventually when the "experience love" was revealed as a hospital advert, it had me in giggles...I would never have expected a hospital to be behind the stunt....jewellery and other such products yes, but not a hospital...

It's like.......no, I don't particulary want to visit a hospital to "experience love" unless its absolutely necessary due to a medical condition.....Secondly, I would prefer commendable medical care to "love", and I would prefer the art of listening and clear communication skills from a hospital before 'experiencing love".

I like Al Emadi too, they were great when I lived near there and cut my toe badly. I needed 5 stitches and the Nurses and Doctors were great. I had to laugh though, as the Doctor was about to stitch my badly cut toe she asked me if I had prefered a platic surgeon, for a TOE!

Considering one of Hamad's own doctors just dies during a botched surgery at Hamad. I think I'll keep going to Al Ahli.

I was impressed with Al Ahli when I broke my leg, it was the first hospital I'd ever been in and it gave me a good impression of hospitals everywhere.

Until they referred me to the Hell that is Hamad's orthopedic outpatient clinic. HELL!! with a freshly broken leg and no cast, they make you queue about 6 times, on crutches, foot turning blue with all the blood from my ruptured muscles.

Queues to arrive, to pay, to wait so see the doctor, for x-ray, back to the doctor, for the casting room, it wasn't until the tears flowed that someone offered me a broken wheelchair.

then i relaised Al Ahli is not a normal hospital, it is heaven. had a subsequent operation there and ... i agree it was love. Insurance covered all of the expenses too.

mmmm. mixed views about this place

Emergency services found to be good, doctors good., although long wait sometimes. Nurses nice :)

adey.. the sperm sample place is disgusting, they make you go to the dirty toilet to provide sample rather than the standard private sterilised room in the west. On top of which the "waiter"(definitely not medical staff) takes the cup off you making sure he is wearing gloves to avoid contamination with his hands. just a slight problem in that he decides to answer the phone at the same time and picking up germs from the dirtiest receptacle in any office.- totally clueless and no sense of deadline( a four hour turnaround turns out to be an 8 hour turnaround).

The audiologist (hearing) in the adjoining building - absolutely no bedside manner, no empathy and no understanding of the issues of what it means to be deaf.

For the love of god can someone recommend a decent experienced audiologist?

I guess we are lucky to have found this hospital because regardless of whatever we complain, we are always in best shape, given some medicine that seem to do nothing and never meet the same doctor again. Seriously, I am not impressed by the treatment but it's near our place so it is the best y punto! (means full stop in Spanish)

it is clean but so is Hamad, the food is awful, so is the Hamads, they over prescribe, so dose the Hamad, the Nurses are not that great, it happens at the Hamad, there are long waiting times, same as Hamad, the Doctor's don't listen to the patients, same as Hamad.

I have had good and bad at Al Alhi, taking the kids there was great, my kids were seen quicker than England, I knew what I was talking about, so they did not over prescribe, but I liked the Doctor, he was ok, but no way would he have been a 'Consultant' in the UK more like an SHO.

The thing I don't like, it is so expensive and actually no better than the Hamad and I got the feeling I was in a hotel and not a hospital and I hate to say it, I have been to at least 5 receptions there and the staff are rude and unhelpful!

Al Ahli like most private hospitals is driven by the need to be profitable. I think of late the customer service level has, in my estimation, not been up to the standards expected. I think they are struggling with capacity.

i got better caring and good service from Al Ahli hospital. may be for this reason they may be charging to give us a better services. i consider caring and better services are more over anything.

May be you wont get better treatment if you are paying more. and dont think you are getting good treatment if you are paying less also .

So we have to take the decision where can we go and get good treatment. I think they meant "LOVE" is better caring only. "Health is Wealth"

AL AHLI Is HOPELESS, i wish this shall be forwarded to the management of the hospital also,

I also had experienced that waiting time issue and when i tried to ask, they were having NO answer.

I also filled in the FEEDBACK Form and asked them to get back to me, i left my contact details, also given the time, i visited, wrote the problem faced etc... but there was nothing.

I was going through all the above posts, i visited Al Ahli some time back, but the amount of money they are charging are TRULY NOT Justified, and more over ONLY peolpe with Insurance Coverage can go there.

The Overall experience is HOPELESS...

HMC is Far better than Al Ahli... (trust me).

My main complaint was the waiting times to be seen. With monotonous regularity we have had an appointment for say 4pm and seen at 6 or 7pm without as much as an apology. Also had appointments booked which were cancelled without notice. Have been told then that it would be another week until next avaiable Doc.

Ah well, can't have it all I guess.

To be fair I think that they are using a model of not over prescribing antibiotics and it is taking people time to get used to it. Many nationalities are used to being given them for anything just in case.

In the UK, even if your child has pus on his tonsils or strep throat, you will be sent home to try and fight it off naturally for 3 days. After that, only if it has got worse, will you get antibiotics. I am a nurse prescriber UK trained and am sometimes shocked by these policies but then am also taken aback by how here, some people take 1 Amoxycillin a day for "good health".

Allergy medication is indicated in the treatment of cold symptoms as they reduce inflammation in the nasal passages. Lot's of people feel that they have been prescribed these through a mis diagnosis when actually the doctor has not explained why they have prescribed them.

The doctors aren't going to be any better or any worse than anywhere else. If they're advertising that your paying for better doctors then that's shameful.

went there few times. Somehow it was implemented to us that along with expensive services we get great doctors and good sevices. I thought I am taking my little girl to the best doctors and though I cannot complain about how i was treated, the doctors did not impressed me that much.

They told me she's got a cold but game me allergy medication. Her cold lasted for a month though I went back thre for some serious medicine.

Maybe they have lots of "love", but when it comes to doctors, they fall under the same category of " take nose drops and you'll be just fine"

Well I LOVE Al Ahli. After 15 years of chronic disease the lovely Gastroenterologist has diagnosed and treated me. He is the kindest, nicest doctor in the world and if he had disbelieved me like all the others I would still be unable to live a normal life. The nurses are also lovely, although to be fair they are at Hamad too.

Only critiscm is the sandwiches are vile. I had been fasting for 48 hours and was so exited to have food but was unable to eat it. I was once charged 25 pounds for a tray of tea in a BUPA hospital so I guess I shoud just appreciate it was included in the price.

I totally agree with you. I went to Ahli Hospital along with my wife for prepregnancy checkups which is not doubt may be one of the most advanced & very organized Private Hospital but really i was near to get heart attack when i had to spent almost more than Qr.1000 for few test within 2 visits.

I think that's why they give there patients so much love that when they hand him over there COSTLY BILLS he never knows the difference and without arguing with them must pay them with a shining smile & red face (saying to himself I'm so much F**ed up tonight!!!!) [hahahahha]

i live and work across al ahli hospital. i heard (though unverified)that salaries are low eventhough its private and is very expensive. so where's the love?

king edshel, i know of a worker who suffered the same fate as your family friend but in another hospital. he had a cardiac arrest although he is only 22 yrs old. he was just complaining about some pain. i do not trust the medical institutions here after that. it's better to take very good care about personal health and safety.

Haha - I wondered when someone would post about those adverts! I'm a regular visitor to Al Ahli at the moment, and while I'm not complaining about the place (though the admin is absolutely shocking) I wouldn't say I've ever experienced anything close to love there. If anything I'd say the staff are veering more towards the other end of the spectrum.
