Happy Happy, the cause for what happen now is far to be only for football, you know better that it becomes a political issue and sincerely I don't wanna debate on this and it's not my buisness.

All what I can say is that I'll always be a good and nice man for all egyptians whom saty cool toward me, but if somebody wants to talk about the last events, I'll just shutup and go away, because de reason of all this mahzala is only political.

during these days I was dancing with my friends and family to celebrate our victory :P

Where have you been WINNER! Mabrook, although the current events between the two countries have been overshadowing any excitement. Would you agree?

I'd you like your contribution here, if you will, a positive rational-heated- discussion maybe, but no cursing or unfounded accusations.

In my first Arabic post I clarified my wanting to wait until after the 2 matches were over to voice my opinion to nohashakib.I didn't want to sound as if I was gloating after we've won the first game. That would've been insensitive to Algerian fans. Now I can and ready to take the heat (ana khaifa..:(( )

Remember, it's only football.

I also feel sorry for Ireland, even though I was supporting France!

This game will remain in history, for bad reasons...such is football!

Hope that at least this will contribute for the decision to start instant review video!

I'm french and I do not accept this "goal" easily. France was cornered and did not play well. From pure sport point of view, Ireland should have been qualified. I'm sad for them, and very sorry that the video still cannot be used for review.

MLK,

The observed behavior is cultural not inflicted by FIFA!

By MLK• 18 Nov 2009 12:15
MLK

I totally agree with the responsibilities, but these people attacking others are not only guilty, but also stupidly manipulated. That's why FIFA and Govts should have been strong...

The consequence of lax rules is what you saw, the origins of all this mess could have been "tackled" earlier by rules. This is a strong and solid argument, and FIFA should not apply a different policy based on... what!?

By Nic• 18 Nov 2009 11:39
Nic

MLK,

FIFA has one standard, but just let's say that you are right and they have bad intentions by "allowing" the exposure of how some people from these two countries, behave.

If this very unluckily hypothetical case is actually happening, FIFA is not acting properly in accordance with their own principles.

But even if that is the case, how do you justify the behavior of the people involved in attacking the other? Is it also FIFA who is forcing people to attack people?

See how much sense your argument makes?

By MLK• 18 Nov 2009 11:02
MLK

I know about that statement very well, but it is not sufficient.

In Europe if something happens between fans, heavy consequences can be faced by teams, clubs, points etc...

why not here??? Or maybe will see that after the match is over.

By Nic• 18 Nov 2009 10:35
Nic

MLK,

You are not well informed, FIFA did publish an official statement.

Again, please don't try to hide these people’s mess under the usual pathetic blame on the west.

Just admit that the behavior the world witnessed is cultural and perhaps recommend their governments to work on their education programs!

By MLK• 18 Nov 2009 10:17
MLK

I think the organization that has to be blamed is FIFA, as they kept silent all along. They should have cancelled the previous match, as things turned badly very quickly.

Instead of that they left brothers and sisters fight each other, for what???? What's the reason behind this silence?

Is it pleasant for them to see arabs fight each other? is there any political ideology behind all this mess?

All fans from both country should write to FIFA to blame them for this, because fanatics always exist, and they become extreme when they are backed...

Don't you find it awkward and mind-boggling that Algerian players are only stoned when they're alone on a (mysterious) ride, but right before, during and after the game, not even a flake of snow fell on their heads from over 70,000 spectators? No fights or quarrels erupted from both sides. Isn't time someone stopped and wondered?

I've been keeping my calm for long now, and deliberately meant to burry my anger when it was reported that our flag was burnt, yesterday, by Algerians in CAIRO, and the finger signs the cameras caught the Algerians do to Egyptians after the game (you must've seen those scenes as well last night). And more and more and more!!

Egypt has played well but all were under stress. It was not easy to play, you have great players so ALG has too.

Unfortunately, your nation should show solidarity with the assaulted team, who ever they are. Your players should have demonstrated fairplay towards their guests and comments should have been made by your dictat...oupss president :-)

By the way, Pharaoh is not islamic. So naming a team Pharaoh is blasphemous due to the idols, slavery and worshiping. This is a wrong symbol.

The largest air force that joined yours on 1973 was the Algerian Air Force (BTW you didn't return our Fishbeds since,as you prefered to lend them to the USAF...)

That day,our blood was same as yours, right?

In the city of Msila, some egyptian contractors along with their families almost got attacked by angry algerian supporters...and 14 policemen got injured while protecting them.

So being sarcastic about the Cairo assault is cheap:how can someone can believe that algerians cut themselves with glass?

How can you say bla bla bla when your brother blood, the same blood of 1973,is spilled because of no-police escort.

Tell me Egyptus,do you really believe that they were acting that night?

For politics: I can assure you that some Algerians fighters joined Gaza during war, to fight with Hamas, as I found several news at the time about it. Then khlass for politics.

I agree with you that we are talking about sports here, but you know that politics influenced the events, as they and the media played the dirty game.

Back to sport:

I hope we will have a good match on Wednesday and hope the best will win (so Algeria will...;-))

Grtz EGYPTIANS

By MLK• 15 Nov 2009 08:55

A description of what happened:

"Arab satellite channels disclose the Egyptian masquerade and discredited their media:

Talking on behalf of millions of Algerians, the newspaper’s Director General Ali Fodhil has made a remarkable intervention in both TV channels Abu Dhabi and Medi1Sat to express his outrage and slashed at the cowardly attack carried out by the Egyptian fans against the Algerian players.

#

#

He staunchly criticized the so called “Sports channels” that launched a large campaign of destabilization that almost undermined the relationships between the two countries. The same channels have tried to lure the Egyptian public opinion when they denied the attack and spread allegations that the act was perpetrated by the Algerian players themselves.

#

#

Fortunately, some really professional Arab satellite channels have seized the opportunity of the presence of Echourok’s editor in chief Mohammed Yaakoubi in Egypt to invite him their sets in order to get the other version of the facts.

#

#

Talking on the forum “Al Jazeera Live”, Yaakoubi didn’t miss the opportunity to slam the head of the Egyptian Football Association Hassen Zaher who, according to him, has used all means to beat the “Greens”.

#

#

Mohammed Yaakoubi was not tender with the Egyptian media that he qualified as biased in comparison with the Algerian one “ I’m quite amazed to notice an unhealthy habit here in your country (Egypt) which is the conversion of your ancient football glories to media professionals who analyse and criticise without any control”, he said. The editor in chief went on saying” Journalism is a profession which is guided by rules and principles”.

#

#

The French satellite channel “CANAL+” has put an end to the Egyptian masquerade when it disclosed the real identity of the Egyptian driver of the bus where the attack took place, at a time where some Egyptian channels including “Modern Sport” and “Nile Sport” have resorted to interview another man who was introduced as being the driver of the Greens” in their respective reports."

Hopefully the video released by Canal+ was clear, while Egyptian were received decently in Algeria (I even saw a picture of a football player being invited to a school or equivalent...), they are stoned in Egypt!!! That is revolting and hope Fifa will punish them to the right level.

I will never understand how & why someone can hate his brother so much because of a ball.

And shame on the newspapers from both sides that sustain this hate.

To all my egyptian brothers:don't let your leaders lure you!

And to all my algerian brothers:don't worry,I'm sure you'll get you ticket to South Africa in Khartoum.

There was nothing such as bus attack, Algerians made it themselves, if it was Egyptians; the match would have been canceled by now, but it's still on.

They spread it on the news.

By Happy Happy• 13 Nov 2009 22:45
Happy Happy

We have all sorts of nationalities who are interested in turning this game into a war. The teenagers who threw stones at the bus were hiding behind trees, and started pelting as the bus approached. I'm truly ashamed of the lack of security presence.

The press around the world shed an uncalled for attention to this game, the BBC flared it enough to create unnecessary commotion.

It's only a game!

I just got the latest news about the "bus attack", it seems like the Algerians feared facing the Egyptian team, so they had nothing to do but to act a little movie on their "own cellphones". And they are knowledgeable about the football rules, if the guests are attacked by the hosts of the football game, the match is canceled and the opportunity of victor goes to the guests. Seems like their chance of absconding failed. Nice try, you still have to face your fears.

It does teach respect and fair play and so much more. The question here is, do they follow that? If they did, this world would have been a better place. I am talking big, I am talking about a whole entire universe, not two against one or three against five. If two Muslim countries are in war, why wouldn't people fight? The world is setting a great example. About the aggressive attitude, you think there isn't uneducated, uncivilized or unsentimental people in Egypt, there is and in a matter of fact in every country there is. They're the ones probably doing this, but they ain't doing it out of the blue, meaning, for no reason. It is because Algerians weren't really respectful when it comes to talking about Egyptians, they insulted players, people and our country. So basically that was the Egyptians respond to their rudeness. It's not like I am saying it is the right way to respond, but I am explaining why it happened.

I can easily swear at Algerians, as they all do (if you are aware that all the responds on Youtube are nasty) but I won't. Because I will not get down to their level, and overall such ignorant, are always to be ignored.

I do like my wisdom too, thank you, but "no" I am not being informed by anyone; it's what the eyes see and can't really deny.

*My previous posts were dedicated to those that knows themselves very well.

M.E.

Because it teaches respect and fair play and both countries embrace it, that's all!

Why are you even mentioning Islam right now? I thought it's about sports manner, you people are so confused. Warrior? Are we talking tanks, gun and bombs, because I can't see any of that. "Aggressive attitude"? I didn't even reach slightly this level, because guess what, haven't heard of it before. I am just being clear, I am saying the truth, I mean everyone knows that. People come on threads and act like "Oh we are brother, we're peaceful" and behind there back it's other than that, they talk "bs". It's the same case between countries, and I don't like hypocritical people. We are in the 21st century, wake up.

Panda I am not sure you do not know what a fight is.

By Nic• 13 Nov 2009 09:20
Nic

Thank god you are both Muslim brothers, for god sake can't you guys behave in a civilized and sports manner? Don't forget the values you both share!

If you continue with this aggressive warrior attitude, you will never get a decent reputation to qualify for the world cup host nation! And that's a shame because both countries are amazing with amazing people.

So cool down, we are in the XXI century, start behaving accordingly!

Are you repeating my words? I said "Weither we win or loose, we are champions in all of them eyes!" So it was never about football. And as I recall, Algerians are barely a history, all I know is that they are French wannabes. About the whole aggression thing, you're eyes deny what's obviously racist. I am being quiet clear, you guys are jealous because we won you before and you felt quiet ashamed. And Egyptians wouldn't really do that to the footballers out of no where. You got to watch T.V and read blogs more often, you will see how much hatred does Algerians have for Egyptians. Egyptians are confident, no words from ignorant shift them.

By panda• 12 Nov 2009 21:20

CAIRO- Foreign Minister Mourad Medelci has firmly condemned the aggression against the Algerian football team on Thursday shortly after their arrival to Cairo (Egypt) and asked his Egyptian counterpart to take the "necessary measures" to ensure the security of players and the Algerian staff. In a statement to APS, the Foreign Minister, who stated the "warm welcome" at the airport, dubbed "serious" the aggression perpetrated by some people against the bus transporting the Algerian delegation from the airport to the hotel, causing injuries to the Algerian footballers.

We'll beat the heck out of you guys! you'll see, only in the Stadium, outside, we're friends.

Deal, or you want to sever ties and start a war, and man we're all very good at that...:)
