Al Nahdi Group

I would like to share with you my worst experience with Al Nahdi group - Car accessories section.

I took my Porsche car to their branch in Al-Sadd and wanted to have the windows tinted with sun protection. They actually worked it out well but, the worst happened! The worker who was installing the films on my windows forgot his cutter in his pocket which teared up my seat in a few places, on the base and on the back rest of my driver seat. Now you can say that shit happens! but it is what happened after or how the company dealt with it afterwards that put the cherry on the pie. The person who was supervising the worker at the workshop who witnessed the whole thing. AFter I checked the seat, he saw the look on my face and called the Business Development Manager (the chivalrous) who asked me to come to him on the spot (again a waste of my time) on Salwa Rd (rush hour time). so obviously I went to him and saw the problem and reacted to it by promising that he will do a couple of phone calls to Porsche people and make them call me to place the order for a new complete seat. Wow!! I was amazed by this swift decent action. And that was it, the next day onwards, I was receiving several SMS from this called manager but all with fake promises and false hopes. Then, I had to call the GM of course which amazed me totally his reaction. He told me: "Ok Ok but it is only a few small holes, not a big deal at all and no need for all that. What do you want me to do??? change the whole seat for you???"
Can you believe that people??? Hellloooo, that was the GM of the company so what do you expect? so I knew at that same moment that I will have to change the seat myself and they will never reimburse me or pay it off. I have proof through emails and i'm working on raising a case against the company.
I just thought that it is fair to share this bad experience with all of you and hope that it would make a difference by making sure you don't deal with Al Nahdi at all.

Take care

Acadian, I took shots of the ripped seat and I also have an email from their Business Development Manager (not so smart) stating that they're sorry for the damages caused to my car etc.

Thanks

All the best with your case...hope your evidences are sufficient in getting the justice you deserve. Its terrible how many organisations in this part of the world operate today as far as customer service and ethics go. But the more consumers fight for their rights the better,Inshallah!

I can guaranty you if you were a Qatari you would have had new seats in a heartbeat! If you did not sign a weaver for damage to your vehicle they are responsible. In such incidents one should take pictures and as much documentation and press charges for damage. You should have gotten something in writing from them there and then.

I might be wrong about this but with regards to customer service consider the following.

In any country full of natives..lets say Egypt, Japan..etc customer service has to be decent , because the client who live around the service provider/use that service provider...have mostly lived their whole life there or know people who have lived there. So if you do a bad customer service job, sooner or later most of the people will know about it and you will loose customers and revenue.

While here in Qatar, the expatriates switch housing and come and leave every x years and the new comers do not know about the customer service issues of certain companies and thus they go visit them.

This gives companies enough new customers to screw their existing ones and the new ones as well, as long new customers are coming along..why the need to treat existing ones or the potential ones in any decency ?

Just my 2c, as for the original poster, I feel with him, I am a car fan and do my best to keep my car in top notch condition and I would hate it to have something like that happen to my car.

Regards ..Ali

I'm realy sad to hear your experience...

The truth of the matter is that most of customer service in Doha is like that...very few of those who really cares for their customer.

No my friend, I believe we're living in a very hot country and reducing a bit (30%) of the visibility is not a big deal. You still can see completely the inside of the car

Professional ethics justifies your action, especially with the non repentant attitude of the GM on the phone. However, I hold you could temper justice with mercy my boss.

That's what you get if you are trying to reduce visibility of the car. Why doesn't Porsche do it? Think about it.
