Accident at Al-Bustan/Al-Waab HUGE FIRBALL

scmasse
By scmasse

The video was taken through a cellphone at 1:43pm. The noise was the radio, and the guy that talks is my driver. The truck makes an explosion noise at the end but because i got startled i accidentally pressed the stop button.....

Does anyone have anymore details?!!?

Really want to know what happened...the smoke cloud is huge!

QS, yep I was lucky. About the same time I was reading about it on QL, I got a text from my son (whom I was going to pick up), so I took my alternate route. Which actually has become my normal route anyway because Al Waab is always terrible!

I didn't see any of it, except that Al Waab was reeeeally backed up when I was coming back.

But then I was going the other way :-)

NFH, at least you had a chance "to reroute yourself"..:) I was at this intersection at the very same when tanya suggested you to do so... I was heading to QSTP...I got stuck there, and the road was blocked by the police anyway... My buddy called me and suggested to go all the way back and to approach QSTP through TV R/a… this way I was late only 10-15 minutes.. if I stayed on the queue on Al Waab, I’d probably miss a whole meeting...

It can flip a Woqood oil tanker and make it explode.

We should ban these Landcruisers/SUV's from now on.

Looking at the video, I love how people don't seem bothered by it and are waiting right next to it. I'd have accelerated out of there pronto!

fortunately I do not think there are any casualties. That friend saw the driver run out after the truck tipped over...no idea if there were others in the vehicles

...the tanker was still exploding in places, perhaps the trucks air tanks or something. I took a few pics with my phone, but don't know how to post them here...

I hope no one was hurt.

I wondered what the smoke was from and why the traffic was backed up on the Salwa Road all the way to Midmac bridge. I was stuck in Maamoura for nearly 30 minutes.

I don't advise going down that road at all, I was stuck there for two hours when the flames were being doused. It was chaos. Still backed-up traffic for half the length of that road.

Looks like a tanker truck has exploded and is currently on fire at the Petrol Station next to Al-Waab/A-Bustan Signal.
