The FIFA World Cup trophy will be coming to Qatar on December 12th, 2013 as part of a global tour.
“This tour is an exclusive initiative from Coca-Cola whereby the trophy travels around several markets, allowing millions of people a chance to revel in its glory and experience the excitement of the FIFA World Cup in their own communities, building up the anticipation for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Rio de Janeiro,” a release said yesterday.
An exclusive invite only event will be held in Doha on December 14th, “offering fans and media the chance to live the ultimate football experience as well as look back to the history and magic of the FIFA World Cup”, according to the release.
The trophy will be touring the world, covering over 92,000 miles, across 89 countries, in a span of 9 months. The tour will also be touring an additional 50 countries that have never had the opportunity to host the trophy before.
The tour was launched in Brazil, host of the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
The Cup will finish its Middle Eastern tour by visiting the UAE, and then moving on to Europe, followed by South America and finally ending up back again in Brazil, a few months before the start of the 2014 tournament.

Yesterday it was shown in Qatar Indian Football Federation League Final, held at Al Arab Stadium Hilal. I got the fortune to see it un unexpectedly...... It was shown to the Indian community as a gratitude from Qatar Football Association.......... Thanks a lot QFA............... wont forget the day.............
Can anyone go and see it?
May be i can feel lonely in this planet to think as to what excitement, fun and experience one get to see some trophy , Why it shoulde be exclusive invite only just to stare at trophy .
An exclusive invite only event? So no chance of ordinary ex-pats from footballing countries getting a chance to have a photograph taken with the most famous trophy in football? Why am I not surprised.
