Sadja, Apple, JhunBug and everyone.

The question, I believe he is trying to convey, the author of this thread is:

Why there has being any Muslim Nobel price winners, since the foundation of the Nobel Price?

No doubt in my mind that there has being great contributions to science and medicine in the past from the muslim culture.

There is excellent educated scholars and scientist out there waiting for their nominations.

Lets not mix our religious proudness and feelings in answering his question.

I take this question pertains to the period after the Noble Prize was instituted, as the contribution of Muslims to science and technology in earlier times is recognized.

By virtue of muslim countries being backward or underdeveloping the vast majority of muslims have probably been deprived, but in instances where the opportunity has been there Muslims have made siginificant contribution one case in point the ex president of India - DR. Abdul Kalam.

who said we Muslims are backwards?... when in fact we are advance! read the Qur'an and you'll find science & technology in it which are mostly proven by scientist recently! meaning, we Muslims read and believe in it but we let scientist prove it!:)

P/S: No intentional offense to non-muslims...

My nominee for the QL Nobel price is Hashim.

The problem is that the public has to decide which category fits him best.

Please fill in the blanks for his best category.

Not winning the Nobel Prize doesn't mean they're backwards. You have to realized only one wins every year and you're asking for a bit too much by saying on a regular interval. I'm pretty sure a muslim won it in other areas... and besides a Nobel Prize is not the only prize that is up for grabs...

I would word it differently. Your statement is blunt and offensive.

What you need to be asking again is:

1- What is stopping them from advancing and progressing?

2- What could be done to improve their situation?

I believe, He has a strong and legitimize point of view by asking that.

The answer is:

I don't know.

My question is:

What is stopping them from winning a Nobel Prize?

It's so much easier to sit on a comfy chair and complain about how lazy others are than to actually get off ur butt and do something, eh ? ;)

If ur so intent on a muslim winning a nobel, then go ahead, work for it, noone's stopping u.

uh... kind of a dumb post... are you saying because of some ones faith... and being muslim that makes them stupid... or backwards...

i think it just has to do with the level of poverty in its nation... and since some of these muslims civilizations have only just recently come into wealth... ie qatar... then of course they dont have much to show for it... give it time...

besides who says your not contributing...
