Permission to marry a non-Qatari

Most of you probably already know that if a qatari man wants to marry and non qatari woman, he first has to get permission from the Ministery of Interior. I was wondering if any one has experience with this sort of thing and can explain the DO's and DONTs to me. What would help insure that the permission is granted. Also what will help expediate the process. I don't want to wait years just to get permission to get married to the person that I want to spend my life with.

Thank you for your help everyone :D

Amnesia, its a tricky situation and the government certainly doesn't make it easy for the couples that would like to get married!!

@thexonic, you need permission to marry a Qatari woman too from the family.

For me, one uncle married a German and the other a British woman. So I guess my family is proof that it's alright :D

I do know that if you record yourself as a Muslim, it makes the process so much more easier.

What kind of rule is this :S??. Everyone should be free to marry whoever they want to get married to.

It's always the small things that make big differences.

I am British and also trying to get this permission....we had ours rejected unfortunately on the basis that my fiancé was too young to have it.

PM me if you want to talk about anything :)
