Burka VS CCTV Controversy

What exactly are they monitoring?

According to Wiki http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NSA_warrantless_surveillance_controversy
The NSA warrantless surveillance controversy concerns surveillance of persons within the United States incident to the collection of foreign intelligence by the U.S. National Security Agency (NSA) as part of the war on terror. Under this program, referred to by the Bush administration as the "terrorist surveillance program",[1] part of the broader President's Surveillance Program, the NSA is authorized by executive order to monitor, without warrants, phone calls, e-mails, Internet activity, and text messaging, and other communication involving any party believed by the NSA to be outside the U.S., even if the other end of the communication lies within the U.S.

With four million CCTV cameras watching the public, the UK now has the highest level of surveillance in the world. The number of closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras has quadrupled in the past three years, and there is now one camera for every 14 people in the UK. According to an article in the newspaper The Independent, residents of a city such as London can each expect to be captured on CCTV cameras up to 300 times a day.

According to The London Evening standard London, Monday 28.09.09 The UK has the highest level of camera surveillance in the world
"We have estimated that CCTV cameras have cost the taxpayer in the region of £200 million in the last 10 years but it's not entirely clear if some of that money would not have been better spent on police officers.

Can we link the recent ban on the burga with the rise security, but is it really about security, or are they monitoring people for other reasons?
If so what reasons?

As Scotland Yard confirmed the use of cameras didn't lower the crime rate.

In fact people were blaming the unchanged crime rate to the fact that the physical deterrent of having cops parole areas may have actually positively influence a decline in the rate of crime.

The question remains why? If the presence of CCTV hasn't done anything then isn't it questionable that a fortune is spent on what appears to be no more than Governmental voyeurism?

It doesn't add up, and had you mentioned not so long ago that there will be a day that to every 14 people there is a camera and that for a simple trip to the convinience store will have you captured on tape up to 300 times would have seem far fetched.

How about if I said there will be a day that the Government will have mandatory microchip inserted under your skins to monitor you're every move, slowly but surely chipping away at your freedom at your personal privacy, a threat to even your will.

Would you still be surprised? In light of what's happened?

What if they're laying down the foundation for a day when Martial Laws will be implemented and having us all micro chipped helps control you if riots break out against systems already in order.

Not a lot of people know about the Northern Union pact which was signed by Bush WITHOUT the permission of the American people, thus merging Canada and Mexico as one super state and ultimately neutralizing the constitution and everything that makes America the free country it is.

So do you really still think the CCTV cameras are about burkas?

Let's suppose they're monitoring people for other reasons...that doesn't change the fact that a person can conceal his/her identity under a burqa & there's no way to dispute that...

that is just crazy, BIG brother is watching!!

Germany was talking about doing the same thing , because they had a lot of problems lately , with violence and killing in the streets .

It would not make a difference the killing and violence would continue no matter what, just like in the UK. the cameras didn't make a difference, the only thing about it ,now you can see who did it and how it maybe happen.
